Just started a website. www.mysticway.net spiritual based therapy. Channeling (not done by me) and Tarot (also not done by me) All phone session. Used to be a therapist for adolescents. Unemployed.. Depressed.. tring to find a job. I suffer from recurrent major depression. I broke my back 7+ years ago and had to have 2 surgeries to try to fix it. Had Hemorrhoid surgery a few months ago.. I Miss martial Arts!!

I have lots of intersts however they mostly include things that require better physical condition. Kiteboarding, Martial Arts, rollerblading. My NON active likes are movies and computers.. (yea what a geek)

Close Back Pain
I blew out my disc doing martial arts. 11mm herniation at L5/S1, Surgery in 2000. Immediate reherniation to 6mm. Now i have 2mm at L4/L5. I suffer from depression daily from pain associated with this. As well as my inability to participate in sports any more. Updated 2007 - Another L5-S1 llaminectomy and removal of floating disc frag. Working well so far.. 2 weeks post op now.
Treatments
- Acupuncture Somewhat Helpful
- Got me walking upright before surgery.. but never relieved any pain.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- This sucked. 2 years and 2 different crackers.. No relief no help. but a BIG bill! Also worked on the DRX9000 and that didnt help either.
- Cortisone (Injection) Somewhat Helpful
- Works but only for a few weeks.. recommend to NOT do a series.. you can only have a 3 shots in a 6 month period.. i should have spaced them out! (post surgery)
- Darvon Not Working
- Might as well be aspirin
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- Yea this didnt work.. pre or post first surgery. What a waste of money for me.
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- Yea this didnt work either. Made me dopey until i built a resistance so i didnt care i was in pain. Bad side effects of butt lock..
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- Well it helped a little on some days.. but only to take the edge off.
- Naproxen Not Working
- See IBP
- Stretching Not Working
- Yoga, Core strengthening.. waste of my time. I felt a little better about myself..but didnt help my pain levels.
- Neurontin Not Working
- This is prescribed for nerve based pain (as well as seizures, bi-polar disorder, and anxiety). Really didnt help much just caused an increase in bathroom usage.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI've suffered from recurrent depression since i was a teenager. Somedays i'm just sad for no reason. Most recent depression due to back issues. Since i have had that corrected i have cut out some meds.. doing great righ tnow.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Used this for 2 weeks post Paxil. This really helped and didnt effect my sex drive too much. Actually this could be used for PE problems in men.
- Paxil Not Working
- BAD!. Rare side effect of blurred vision. Turned into permanent vision damage. Ironic seeing as my depression now is caused by my back problems.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- This has worked in the past, and still works for me now depending on the causes of my depression. I higly recommend finding someone you can trust and talk with them!
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- This worked great.. few side effects, no sexual side effects.. a little loose bowels.
