O.K. We are back from the pet emergency clinic. They wanted to keep Skippy there to give him I.V. fluids and a bunch of meds, some x-rays, and watch him over night. They also wanted over $600.00 for all of that! ![]()
Well, by the time we got to the emergency room he hadn't thrown up in about 15 minutes, and the whole time we were there he didn't throw up, so I was thinking maybe he was winding down and getting whatever it was out of his system and he wouldn't need to stay. They said that he didn't have Parvo, thank goodness and the doc couldn't feel any kind of a blockage in his intestines. I was worried about the deydration thing though since he is so little. I know it's really easy for little dogs to get dehydrated and they can go down hill FAST, so I asked them if they could just give him some subcontaineous fluids, the anti-nausea meds and the anti-biotic and I could take him home and watch him closely. They agreed and I had to dole out all the money I had, although it wasn't anywhere near $600.00, Yay.![]()
So I carefully took him home. The meds made him a little woozy and tired, but so far no runs or throwing up. The doc said to bring him back in if he gets worse and they won't charge the office visit fee the second time. Whew! So he is O.K. for now and I think he will be alright. I'll let you know how it goes. Take care everyone! Love you lots!![]()

Poor little thing. What kind of dog is he again? Sorry I forget everything. I have a Papillion. Mine usually throws up something because he eats everything including string off of anything he can find it on. He threw up a big wad of string one time. He also gets car sick and usually yaks. Vet gave us some drops to put in his water next time we have to drive anywhere. I'm hoping he will outgrow it. He's never had the runs. That must be hard to deal with. Boy I hope Toffee never gets them. Take care of the little thing and hopefully he is on his way to recovery and you're peace of mind.

Glad to hear it wasn't Parvo or anything serious like that. Hope the little guy is back on his feet and chasing his tail soon.
