Close Anxiety
I had a panic attacks 7 years ago. I started on Paxil for 6 years and then decided to wean off. I didn’t do it properly so went back on to Celexa. Just recently I had a flu and infection and couldn’t keep anything, even celexa, in my system. I’m trying to get back on track with Celexa and have increased my dose – but I’m still nauseated and can’t sleep. I just want to get back to where I was…
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- works quickly to stop attacks and relaxes me...it does however make me sleepy
- Breathing Exercises Working / Worked
- Works - at certain points - before bed or when an attack seems prevalent
- Celexa Working / Worked
- Have been on 20mg and have had to increase to 30mg. The increase process has been anything but fun. Lots of nausea, anxiousness and having a hard time sleepling.
Close Depression
Treatments
- Celexa Working / Worked
- have been on celexa for two years - for slight depression and generalized anxiety. Just recently had a panic attach...again!
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Doctor suggests I take this as a compliment to Celexa
Open Panic Attacks
I started having diagnosed panic attacks in 2002. Initially they were stress induced, now they are sporatic - they come at any time. I was on Paxil for about 4 years and then went off...because I felt I didn't need it (it was the stigma of being on meds). So I went off and have had to take meds again. I experience butterflies in my stomach, dizziness and feeliings of passing out...even when I'm calm. Anyone out there the same?
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- Works! It quiets my system and helps me sleep. I carry it with me at all time whether I'm feeling good or not.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- I do meditate and enjoy it. But once again, when I start feeling better, I stop.
- Paxil Working / Worked
- This has worked for me in the past. In fact it was the best medicine I was on. When I went off it and had to go back to meds, I didn't want to go back to Paxil as I did not follow a prescribed weaning program and had a terrible experience. I did try Paxil again and it didn't seem as effective the second time around.
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- I've attended classes through my therapist and use these techniques. I find using them regularly they work...however, when I start to feel well, I forget to do them.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- This is effective, however, my attacks are sporatic - so I try to practice what I'm learning.
- Rescue Remedy Somewhat Helpful
- I have used this in the past - it was prescribed by a naturalpath. However, my MD said not to mix the natural with prescribed as they don't know what will happen. I will tell you however, that it did settle me down within minutes of ingesting it.
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Cipralex is the turbo form of Celexa. It works somewhat.
