Hi, I am 40 years old and I would love to quit smoking. Cost to much to smoke. I am a survivor of Glioblastoma (brain cancer), the doctor told me that I had 47 weeks to live. So, I found another doctor and here I am now, happy. That was of all the times but, 9-9-1999 (weird date). There is a fellow in Michigan who is about 6 months older than me. We are suppose to be the only 2 people that had survived for this length of time. We use the right side of brain where 99.9% of people use the left side. And the tumors are on the left side. And, yes we are somewhat odd (using the other side of our head to do things).

Type: OtherHI, I HAVE HAD BRAIN CANCER SINCE 9-9-1999, THE FIRST DOCTOR SAID I HAD 47 WEEKS TO LIVE. I TOLD HIM () AND FOUND OTHER DOCTOR. SO, HERE I AM LIVING, TAKE LOTS OF MEDICINE, FEELING GOOD, AND AT A YOUNG AGE I FOUND WHAT LIFE WAS REALLY LIKE BEING ON AN AMBULANCE AND RIDING TO A HOSPITAL. WOW WEE WAS I EVER SCARED.....
Treatments
- Chemotherapy Not Working
- NOT FUN AT ALL. BUT, NOT THE WORST THING I EVER HAD TO DO IN LIFE. CONSTIPATION WAS A PROBLEM TO DEAL WITH TAKING THAT MEDICINE.
- Radiotherapy Not Working
- ALREADY HAD MY HEAD SHAVED FOR SURGERY SO, I WAS USED TO NOT HAVING HAIR. BUT, IT STILL GROWED AND YET SOME ALWAYS FELL OUT.
- Surgery Not Working
- FUN, FUN. COULDN'T GET THE WORDS OUT, COULDN'T WRITE. WHICH MADE ME SO MAD BUT, AS THE SWELLING WENT DOWN I COULD TALK AND CRIED A LOT, BECAUSE OF THE NERVES THAT WERE PLAYED WITH. NOW, I AM A HAPPY 39 YEAR OLD BOY. IN 1999 THE FIRST DOC SAID I HAD 47 WEEKS TO LIVE. HA HA, DON'T SEE HIM ANYMORE.
- Temodar Not Working
- MEDICINE FOR CANCER, YOU TAKE ANOTHER PILL WITH THIS FOR CONSTIPATION AND UPSET BELLY. BUT, AFTER THE FIRST TIME- THEY GET MUCH EASIER TO DEAL WITH. I WAS ON IT FOR 2 YEARS. ALL THINGS I DONE HELPED ME TO LIVE, FROM SURGERY, CHEMO, RADIO. IT ALL HELPED.
Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
Trying to quit smoking. Using chantix and I am down to 1 pack per day. Was 4 packs. Just having a problem quitting completely.

- Chantix Working / Worked
- Still smoking some. Was 4 packs a day to 1 pack. I have been on chantix 14 weeks.
