    • About Me

I am a retired nurse living with my son and his family. I've always been a person who never says 'quit'--keep on keeping on has been what I've lived by. I love poetry, painting, writing poetry and short stories. I enjoy nature and belive this planet is our only home and should be handled with love and care.

Hi Suzz - I was diagnosed after 35 years of looking for answers particularly with regard to my constant sprains and strains and bruising. I saw an EDS Specialist at Johns Hopkins who used the Beighton Scale to diagnose me. I hope they find the genetic marker for Hypermobile type soon. I'm managing well w/weekly PT and monthly osteopathic (gentle) manipulation and prolotherapy - and pain management. I hope you have found some good treatment. Blessings to you, Mags.

    • Close Chronic Pain

I fell on black ice back in 1993--fractured the sacrum--which has led to the L-4 and L5 discs being degenrative. One of those discs has a 5cm bulge which appears to be compressing a nerve that causes pain down the L leg into the L foot. I was told I also have Morton's Neuroma in both feet. When the nerve becomes agravated it also affects the feet with burning sensations and spasms whicj makes it difficult to walk. My daily activites are almost nill, due to this problem. I am watching many wonderful opportunitities to enjoy pass be by.

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
Seemed to relieve some of the disomfort
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
seems to dull the pain but leaves the brian feeling detached.
      Ice Pack Somewhat Helpful
I use ice packs on the low back area. When the feet are in pain, I place a hot water bottle on bottom of feet--this seems to ease the spasms
    • Close Senior Dating & Sexuality

WEll, I'm a senior, so that qualifys me--right.

    • Open Phobia

I, too get social anxiety--I don't know if this is something that's always ben with me, or something that happened after my injury--Seems I spent a lot of time by myself--had a hard time accepting my pain and the limits it put on me. I just stayed away from people--if I'm in a situation where people are arguing, I want to run and hide--I don't like getting agry, and have a hard time dealing with people who are angry.

      Treatments

      Acceptance Working / Worked
I've learned to accept myself and others
