  sorry Jeanne...what I would do is buy a journal book...start jotting times you eat and drink and what you eat and drink...symptoms time and what symptoms you are having...keep writing it watch for a pattern...and go over it with the stomach dr...also write how you are feeling...are you stressed, nervous...that also has an effect....start the journal today..it is important that you do that and will help you and your dr....hugs

  hugs it must be the kelp in the milkshake that is real interesting...it may not be the hiatal got bigger sweetie...if it shifts or moves to a bad area it would cause problems...keep me posted and let me know how you make out...hugs

  the quit smoking is easier..I have to keep telling my brain...I dont need it or want it......hugs good that you stopped smoking too..the smoking made the acid real bad...hugs

  i started off with nexium and then they doubled it and then I took zantac on top....I had an endoscopy done about 4 years ago...the stomach dr said he saw it but thought it was small...but I coughed alot and it is possible that the coughing pulled it through more..the acid reflux was so bad...i was up at night like I was sea sick or morning sickness.there were nights I really got sick..although acid was bothering me in the day too....I starting getting chest pains like I was having a heart attack...I guess food was being stored in a pocket where the diaphram was ...I saw many dr and they all dont recommend the surgery...but in my case...I was 98% risk of having it strangulated and they all said it had to be done...
