Close Mitochondrial Diseases

My son went into the hospital for having a seizure, then became very sick. His liver had failed from Tylenol toxicity. They diagnosed him with a mitochondrial disorder but they still don't know which one. He has now fully recovered from the liver failure and he's on Levocarnitine and CoQ10. His liver mitochondria were swollen and mis-shappen. His carnitine level was really low and his acyl carnitine levels were slightly elevated. I wish I knew what he has.

Treatments

Carnitine Working / Worked

It seems like he has more strenght than he did before but it's only been a week.

Low Fat Diet Working / Worked

He has more strenght than he did before but not sure if it's the diet or the supplements.

CoEnzyme Q Not Working

This made my son gag and vomit and loose his appetite. It might have helped but if he can't eat it's not really worth it.
