I just learned that I am HIV positive a few days ago (7/11/07) and am waiting to meet with a Doctor and go over the blood work. I have always had a passion for life and I am trying to stay calm but I am scared. I have a son who is 24. He is in his last quarter of college to earn his 4 year degree and is engaged to be married Oct 07. My mother recently passed away and that changed a lot of my plans. In one day my plans, hope and dreams have all changed...

I am a 47 year old female and was diagnosed HIV positive on 7/11/07. I found this out after donating blood and receiving a letter in the mail from the blood bank. Fast forward to Dec. 2008. After dealing with the initial shock on having HIV I can say that I am doing good. I am determined to get through this with the help of God and my friends. Both have given me a lot of strength.
Treatments
- Atripla Too Soon to Tell
- Just started in November - still waiting for my numbers. So far I have not had any side effects that I am aware of and I am feeling better everyday.
