Tomorrow is our 60th. Mood
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | A Sad story
Tomorrow will be our 60th Anniversary.  It is so sad that My Mike passed a month ago, just missing it.  Actually it should be 62 years counting 2 years engagement.   I hate the thought of going through the day without him.  I'm still numb and wonder when my brain will loosen .  On our 50th, my niece made a video and we always watched it on our anniversary.  Sure hope I can do it this years without him.   Hope you are all doing well.

Oh my friend, I wish we could all be there with you to give you a big hug. I know Mike filled your world up and made things whole. Maybe you can try to celebrate the day through the tears as a beautiful part of your life. Change is hard, loss is harder, I know. But from what I've read, I think Mike loved you so very much and will watching from above while you watch the video and hoping you can still enjoy the day. If you're not ready for the video, then save it for another special day when you're ready.

It's all so new and I hope you can make it through, you've been so strong. I'll be sending positive vibes and lots of hugs your way tomorrow and I hope it's a day that brings you a little joy in the memories you have in your heart.

I'm wondering if there are some women who have recently had a husband who passed away.   I could use a support group. Help.     Benie

Our local hospice organization has an outstanding support group and one on one support in person. I just lost my best friend to cancer in August and they have been so very caring and supportive taking her family through each step. I'm so sorry for your loss Benie...I know you and Mike were true loves and he will be watching over you now, as you did for him when he needed you the most. You are such a special person....so much love, prayers and hugs coming your way my friend. We're here for you if you need a shoulder or a friend. Cathy

last days for Mike Mood
Monday, September 21, 2009 | A Sad story
Hi to all my friends,  I thought you might want to know the update for my Mike in the NH.  He has been there over a year.   They treated him nicely.   But now the doctor said MIke has only a few more days to live!!  He hasn't known me for about a month and that just about killed me.  I was feeding him daily  in a wheel chair,  now he is in bed   can't get food or water down.  He is now in the Comfort Zone.   How heart breaking to see him slowly withering away,  it has been 2 days.    Thank God he is in no pain.
All he does is sleep.  I was hoping we could make our  60th Anniversay  but it doesn't look that way it will be in early NOv.   Sure hope they find a cure for Parkinsons especially for the young ones.       Hope you are all doing well.   Benie

Oh my friend, I'm so sad to hear this and wish there were more answers and help for this disease and the sadness it brings.

I had no idea that Mike was at this stage...so quickly this has all turned. My heart is so sad for you to lose the one you love, but I know this has been such a hard journey and to see them in such pain and anguish is not a life either.

You have been an angel and such a wonderful wife and friend throughout this all. God bless you and Mike both. I know whatever comes, he will soar with angels.

Keep me posted and know I'm hear if you need a friend.

Oh Benie, I am sorry that Mike has lost ground so quickly. I know that you have been there to support him through all of his journey with PD. I also hope they find a cure for this soon. There seems to be more people being diagnosed with PD in recent years. Some, my husband is one, have advanced to the point that I don't think it would help him but there are so many others that could be saved the trials of this illness. Please know that I will keep you and Mike in my prayers. Sending blessings to you both! pat
