  I am so sorry for your loss. The numbness might last a long time, but that is ok. There is no timeline for grieving and what ever you do is right for you. I am at three years of losing the two most important men in my life, my dad and my husband on the very same day. This is the first year that I even cleaned out one of my husbands dresser drawers. I wish I could wrap my arms around you and make everything better. Please know that you are not alone and many are praying for your strength and support. Cry a little and remember good times. Cry a little more and one day the numbness will begin to fade. Take care of yourself.

  I am new at this as well. My husband passed 8/23. I am sorry for you loss. this is a good place. HUGS

  I still have not opened the box. However I have the digital photos on the computer and sometimes I do lok at them and then get even sadder. But, at least then I cllick them off instead of walking by the ones in the frames when ever I go through a room. It will be 4 months on Sat, and some days are a bit easier but not all of them. With the holidays coming it will be rough his birthday is 12/19 and for the last few years we always did a cruise for his special day. We had one planned for this year. I try to not think about a;; of this too much. Take care.

  HI BENIE JUST GOT YOUR HUG ..MY DAUGHTER HAS JUST TOLD ME SHE HAS BOOKED FOR ME ,TO GO SANTA MONICA USA ,FOR XMAS IT WILL BE THE FIRST HOLIDAY I HAVE HAD FOR THREE YEARS IT WILL BE HARD WITHOUT HARRY ..BUT MY CHILDRENHAVE SAID I MUST GO ..A 12HRS FLIGHT BUT WE ARE GOING CLUB CLASS I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH GOOD KIDS HARRY WOULD HAVE BEEN SO VER PLEASED ...LOTS OF LOVE HELEN

  Dear Benie -- Don't feel uncomfortable about going to the cemetery. Jimmy was cremated and as he was a cancer patient, we had discussed what he would want done with his ashes. He told me that he wanted to stay here in CA with me. He has 2 grown children from his 1st marriage. His son wanted the ashes buried and for him to have a tombstone -- the whole works. I knew it was against Jim's wishes, but I didn't want his son to be left out of the mix. I told his son if he wanted the tombstone, that was ok, but I didn't want anything to do with it. In my heart, I feel Jim is still here with me in CA. His ashes and "remains" may be buried out East, but his spirit and soul remains with me every single day. I believe he is still here watching over me and guiding me. That's just what I believe. Hugs to you, bsbrm/barbara

  Benie - I am close to you in location (MA) as well as thoughts. It's unbelievable the pain of loss. I knew it would be hard but each and every day I have cried for the loss of my beloved. Knowing that others have experienced the same emotions at least makes me realize that I am not going crazy. JD

  I also had a hard time getting rid of my husband clothing. This coming Friday will be 12 weeks since I came home and found him. It took me nearly a month to go thru them. I gave some to our son, some to our son-in-law and our daughter and me keep a few things. I've boxed up the rest but to be honest, they are still in my living room waiting to go to a new home. I'm afraid that new home is slowing going back into the closet since I've gone thru the boxes twice already. Last week I was having a tough time with everything and when I went to bed I took one of his jackets and hugged it close to me. I like that. I could still smell him on it , it was nice. Made me feel like he was still close by. In your own time you will know when you are strong enough to do this difficult task that we all will or have done already. Good luck and God Bless
