Close Endometriosis
I have had endometriosis since I was 15 and interstitial cystitis since I was about 19, but I have had problems all my life.
Treatments
- Lupron Somewhat Helpful
- Although I did feel a little nauseus and moody for the six months of it, I have definitely noticed less painful periods!
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- Two laporoscopies, both helped for a while. Beware of hospitals though; I got pneumonia in the hospital and ended up much sicker than when I came in!
- Extended-Cycle Birth Control Working / Worked
- I take pills for three months to reduce my periods so I can actually maintain a job and go to school.
Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
I have suffered with IC since age 18, but I think I've actually had some symptoms for most of my life.
Treatments
- Zyrtec Working / Worked
- I take this to help with the inflammation.
- Bladder Instillation Working / Worked
- I get these as needed for my bad days, it really helps, but impractical for everyday.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- I feel so much better when I can get to the gym for cardio and especially yoga and pilates. It helps me stay strong and flexible, and helps me sleep at night too.
- Aloe Vera Somewhat Helpful
- These seem to be helping a little now that I have stopped the elmiron because it was hurting my stomach so bad.
