    • Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in the fall of 2004. My main symptoms were constipation, bleeding, periodic diarrhea, and abdominal pain. My doc put me on colazol, which didn't help, and a low residue diet, which made things worse. Mesalamine (Azacol) worked for a while. But taking psyllium husks and flax seeds works WAY better. I'm off all meds and feeling pretty good!

      Treatments

      Asacol Working / Worked
This is what put me in remission. I started out with enemas and moved to suppositories. Now I'm off of all meds, now I take psyllium husks powder and flax seeds.
Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
The more whole, natural foods I eat the better I feel. Processed foods are almost sure to cause problems
