I'am a 47 year old married mother of 3 boys.They are 27, 21, and 18.I was told i had fibro in 1992, they at first thought it was lupus.I'am in an extreme amount of pain right now.And have no one who understands or cares.

Enjoy country music, oldies, some music from the 70' through to the present.Love the ocean totally!Flower arranging, gardening, reading good books, true things.i do enjoy Beverly Lewis books, all from the Amish Country, here in Lancaster, Pa.Inspiritaional books, uplifting things, i enjoy the Chicken Soup books also, have about 8 or 9 of those.I also have a genuine love of people, from my heart.Wanting to help others who are hurting, even though i'am hurting.We all need someone we can talk go to, and trust.

Hi..My name is Carol,i'am a 46 year old,and i was told that i had fibromyalgia in 1992,right after taking care of my dad,before he died in 2 months from it.I do see a Rheumatologist every month or sometimes wait 2 months.I take an anti-inflamatory right now,because i'am out of remission full force.Ihave alot of stress right now.
Close Hiatal Hernia
Hi..I'am Carol and have a hiatal hernia/plus gerd/irritable bowel.My hialtal hernia causes me tremendous pain,and suffering.My grandma had one,her daughter had one,( my mom),now i have one.I'am on Nexium,which i feel does absolutely nothing.I take 3 a day.I also use Gaviscon,tablets or liquid.That does help,when severe i have to go to the E.R. and have a cocktail and a nausea/pain injection.
Treatments
- Antacids Not Working
- These things have not helped me at all.Only when i first diagnosed,many years ago.
- Nexium Not Working
- Nexium is not helping at all,and i have had this problem for about 20 years now,getting worse as i age,i'am 46 years old now.
- Pepto-Bismol Not Working
- This made me throw up,period,butt hen my mom said it always did when i was a kid too.
- Protonix Working / Worked
- This one of the meds,the dr.first tried,and for a few years,in the beginning,it actually helped.But after that,it just stopped helping.
Open Caregivers
I have not been in this situation ever.But i'am a care giver to my 80 year old mother,who on Jan.4 08,broke her neck,at C1 and C2,plus tore her rotator cuff,has a blood clot int he same arm.Loads of other issues.But you are not responsible for this girl.You have been an extremely wonderful,caring person though,to stay and try as along as you have.
Open Back Pain
Hi...I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease,several years ago.The pain has gotten worse and worse.I have been on vicoden for thos eeyars.Not helping anymore.The neurosurgeon says i need a spinal fusion now.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- It just seemed to make matters worse.I had alot of spasms in myback/legs afterwards.Plus it aggravated my Fibro.
- Cortisone (Injection) Not Working
- The shots were done with x-ray supervision,he did a spinal tap also.They hurt like crazy,i got a severe headache for 12 days straight.I went back to the pain management center,and the dr.who did the shots on me.Said she would never touch my back again.
- Darvon Not Working
- Tried that for a bit,in between the vicoden,but after awhile,none of the pain meds really give you much relief.
- Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
- I have to take at one time to get a tiny bit of relief.But remember i had been taking them for approximately 4 1/2 years too,to reach that point.And they do not make me feel anything unusual,thank god.I don't like alcohol,or feeling out of control.
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- No help at all.
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- They tried too use the stim machine on me,but i have nerve damage in the lower back,so it did nothing.Just caused more pain,with the exercises.
- Relaxation Somewhat Helpful
- I have a very hard time sleeping at night.I used to be able to sleep great on my belly,but not anymore.Your back kind of curves downward,causes more pain.If i lay on my either side,that hurts,it pulls.Alot of my body hurts me,so it is very difficult to rest.But laying down,at least at first helps to relieve some discomfort.
