I'm a MOTHER of 3 grown sons....& grandma of 6 grandaughters~~~~&. As well as co-parent (Now other Mom to 2 0f the 3) to my partner's adopted sons. (ages 14 & age 16) I am a Gemini. Was in a domestic partnership, I'm a lesbian, I was in committed relationship for almost 7 yrs. (she just DIED suddenly on) nov. 9th, 2008. I am in an intense process of healing one ocean wave or moment at a time........ I try to remember that I am on a spiritual path and that there is always a reason to every lesson. I have learned & believe (in my opinion) that there are NO "mistakes or accidents" only lessons to learn and grow from. -Namaste-

Writing, Reading, Art, creative endeavors, Nature, spiritual growth. Doing lots of Research of various topics that capture my attention. World Events. Earth Changes.I am spiritual, but NOT religious. Some Pagan type beliefs. Native American Indian, Zen, Positive Affirmations & Visualization. Buddhist etc. I do not adhere to any one organized religion. I honor and respect everyones right to choose a path. Please do the same for me. Thanks! :)

Jess, no matter what the rest of us are feeling, it's nothing compared to your loss of your life partner. Time softens things - both the loss and whatever might have come between any of us in times gone by. I'd really like it if we kept in touch - I'll leave that up to you though.

Hi Jess -- I've been thinking about you and the boys all day -- and, of course, thinking about Trish. I had a long drive home from Baltimore tonight and found myself smiling at times, remembering some of the cute, silly things she would write -- and then getting sad. I can only imagine how many emotions this day must have brought YOU! I hope, though, that you found some peace in it remembering the love that you and Trish shared. I'm so glad you got the flowers -- I wish I could have been there to give them to you myself. Sending lots and lots of love and I will write a real message soon. -Jen

hi jess...thanks for your support. its been real hard i am so thankful i was with him when he passed i was my mom my sister my daughter amanda and conner were all around his bed talking to him telling him it was ok and not to be afraid.

Close Bipolar Disorder
Much of my life earlier especially before 35, (51 now) had been ongoing cycles. Much like a roller coaster! But,I HATE roller coasters! Had mostly more downs. I was not officially diagnosed with Bipolar 2 until I was in my early 30’s. My meds that I'm currently on? Actually work better more than any have in the past.I truly feel fairly stable most often.

- Geodon Working / Worked
- Geodon, feel more alive and go to sleep earlier & way less late in a.ms! Works good!Side effects kicked in had to go off it.
Close Smoking Addiction & Recovery
Began age 13. QUIT a few times off & on over the years. I'm truly looking forward to being dedicated, committed, to staying smoke free, To being a NON Smoker for life! I'm 51 now, so Goddess willing & hopefully! I will have a decent amt. of time let to enjoy! Stopped smoking July 7th, 2007

- I'm DOING IT! It was hard, first few days! but i managed. Support on DS helps!U really can't RISK taking just one puff. eventually, most smokers will be right back where they started!

Open Diabetes Type 2
diagnosed approx 2 yrs ago now. Pretty sure i had it way before then however. (in hindsight). Several other family members also have it. My mom had it, shes deceased now. She had probs. complicated by her diabetes. having a few strokes, high BP, heart attacks, angina, issues, etc. So I know I need to be careful and stay on track!

Been dealing with fibro since early 20's. I think. and/or believe. Have mostly accepted "the" or my limitations. However, I still feel sad re: the losses in various ways, that impact on my life. Helps to have a partner who can relate, as she has it as well.

I've had migraines ALL my life since about age 4. & Im 51 now!

- Doesnt work for me! I cant have it. I'm allergic to it, I found out the hard way!
- Fiorinol Not Working
- This helped me. But Drs in Calif. are NOT fans of dx'ing it! I was taken off it.
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- doesnt do zip for my headaches.
- Imitrex Somewhat Helpful
- makes my heart race usually! doesn't help alot.
- Inderal Not Working
- didn't work good for me. plus was too many side effects.
- Maxalt Working / Worked
- helps a bit, sometimes, if taken very early.
- Midrin Working / Worked
- Helps lots. Only prob right now? is here where i live, they have had shortages of it from drug manuf. I cant always get my refills i need lately!
- Relaxation Somewhat Helpful
- somewaht helpful, but only to a degree. doesnt take away my migraines.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- Yuck!! awful for me all the way around!

I have a 28 yr old grown son and a 12 yr old son (co-parenting with his Mom-T.)with Aspergers Syndrome. I feel I am on the spectrum with AS as well. No official diagnosis though for me or my 28 yr. old son). We "fit" the AS "profile" in many ways though.
