Wow, what a nasty day it is - pouring rain and a powerful wind. I suppose I shouldn't complain, though; we've had a really nice fall so far. I've been working pretty much every day for the last couple of weeks, as my husband has been helping our friend get her house ready for the renovators. This means our own house is starting to look like a bomb hit it. I have the day off tomorrow, so I can guess what I'll be doing. Our son and I are going to be taking the bus down to Agassiz at the end of the month, to visit my parents. Usually, I hate travelling, but it will be nice to be able to just sit on the bus and do nothing for several hours. It's not really that far from here to Agassiz, but the trip involves two ferry rides and changing buses in Vancouver, so it takes most of a day to get there. I'm just hoping that I stay well between now and then. Travelling when you're sick really sucks.
Been reading "Fast Food Nation". Don't know why I read these things. They just make me feel angry and powerless. I just finished reading "Naked Ape to Superspecies". Anyway, I have decided to try to clean my life up, starting as soon as I get back from my trip. My main focuses (foci?) will be:
a) No more pop.
b) No more junk food.
c) No eating in fast food restaurants.
d) No more than one meal per week in any sort of restaurant.
e) No buying lottery tickets.
Right now I have a sort of Jekell and Hyde diet. Most of my meals are pretty healthy. Even in restaurants, I usually choose something reasonably nutritious. However, I tend to snack on junk food and drink WAY too much pop. Anyway, if I manage to stick to these resolutions, I should be able to save quite a bit of money. Wish me luck.
