We went to see "Food Inc." at the local theatre last night. The Patricia is the oldest continually-operating theatre in Western Canada. It was quite an experience. First of all, they were selling home-made cookies (really good) at the concession stand. How often do you see that? When we got into the actual theatre, there was a guy playing the organ in front of the stage. Then a lady got up and read out a bunch of community announcements. The show itself was very thought-provoking. It's too bad that most of the people in the audience were the kind of people who already know the value of local food production. It's the idiot legislators who are trying to put local farmers out of business who need to watch things like that. You could certainly tell it was an American production though - all that talk about Monsanto and no mention of Percy Schmeiser. Anyway, I recommend you all see it, if you can find it in your area. It's not for children, though - there are some pretty gory slaughterhouse scenes.
