Journal Entry for July 4, 2007
I went to see a specialist endoncrinologist last week. My levels are not stabilizing, they are going down, and I am afraid that if I carry on …
I am 27 year old, veggie, almost vegan, passionate about animals and environmental issues. Interested in natural health, and quite against the pharmaceutical industry. I believe we can heal ourselves naturally, and I want to learn a way I can do this with my thyroid problem. Moved from England to Canada in June 2006.

Thanks for the journal entry and words of support. It does help knowing that there are other people going through the same thing. I literally thought I was losing my mind when my symptoms first started. I have to go in for a thyroid biopsy in a couple of weeks, because the endo found a nodule on my thyroid that he wants to check out.
I was diagnosed in October 2005, had VERY high levels of t3 and 4 and non-existent TSH. I had all the classic symptoms including swollen ankles and feet. I was put on 6-8 tabs a day (carbimazole), and within a week I developed hives all over my body. I switched to PTU and felt much better almost instantly. I was taken off the meds after only 5 months and was told I would have a 30% chance of a reoccurence since I responded so well. I was fine off the meds for over a year until March 2007.
Been diagnosed with Graves disease
