Hi, I am a mom of a boy with autism as well. I also have two other boys, one with adhd and one with mild aspergers. I have symptoms of ptsd and their father was very emotionally abusive. I am happily remarried now.

My name is Jackie and I am a proud mother of my 10 year old son. He is mildly autistic and my world. He was diagnosed with autism (pdd) when he was only 18 months and he has come a long way since his diagnosis. I am so proud of him! He amazes me every day.

- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- Occupational Therapy Working / Worked
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Picture / Word Schedules Working / Worked
- This helps my son a lot in school. Helps him stay on task.
- Hippotherapy Working / Worked
- I am a big fan of Equine/Hippo therapy. It seems to "organize" my son almost instantly. It is like a drug to him, so the effects where off after a few days.

- Trazodone Not Working
- I didn't even know my own name on this stuff. UGH.
- Valerian Somewhat Helpful
- This treatment works for a few days for me and then loses its effect. I have to admit that I don't stick to it for long to give it a really good go.
- Passion Flower Somewhat Helpful
- I use this in combination with Valerian. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesnt. lol
Open Anxiety
I have suffered from Anxiety ever since I was in my early 20s. I have tried different meds for it, but it always have had the opposite affect for me.
Treatments
- Ativan Not Working
- Paxil Not Working
- Passion Flower Working / Worked
- Works a little, but I still haven't figured out the right dosage.
- Xanax Not Working
- Has the opposite affect on me.
- Zoloft Not Working
- This stuff made my heart race. Again.. I usually have the opposite responses to meds.
- Valium Not Working
- This stuff knocked me out the one day and then made me very jumpy the next. I just don't react well to meds at all.
- Neurontin Not Working
- DON'T TAKE THIS STUFF. I have to admit it helped with the anxiety for 2 weeks and then I ended up in the hospital for almost 6 weeks do to swelling that this stuff caused. After I stopped taking it... problems went away within a few days. BAD BAD BAD BAD. I felt like I was going to die on this stuff.
Open Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
I have been diagnosed with "circumstantial PTSD" whatever that means. I was raped by my best friend/boyfriend of 2 years and I believe that is what started my anxiety episodes. I was also in an abusive relationship after that which only amplified my anxiety.
