About Me
We just moved to Portland Oregon as my husband got a job working for Nike. After living in Miami for 2 years, this city is a breath of fresh air. I'm from Indiana and my husband is from Argentina. We met online while my husband was living in London and I was in Indianapolis. We got engaged in Paris 6 months later and married within a year in Argentina where my husband planned the whole wedding! I was 34 when we married and my husband was 31. It is quite a romantic story and my friends think I should write a novel. I am a Montessori preschool teacher but am not working at the time. Right now I am focusing on our new home, enjoying gardening, decorating, photography, and loving the west coast. It is gorgeous here. I feel like some good luck will come our way soon since we now live in a place that was rated #1 city to have a baby in. Plus, the organic lifestyle here has to eventually make an impression on my fertile soul....right?! UPDATE: PREGNANT AFTER 4 LONG YEARS AS OF FEB 23RD! ONE HEALTHY BABY GROWING AFTER DONOR EGG FROM SISTER!! YAY!!!!!

You did it! Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your birth story - the good and not-so-good details. Glad you all are okay and baby is fine. And thank you for remembering and encouraging all of us who have yet to meet our children.

Close Infertility
Type: EndometriosisI have been married 4 years, trying to conceive 4 years. We have been through 6 inseminations, 2 fresh IVF's, and 3 FET's, laparoscopy a year ago, (endo),organic eating, Chinese herbs, and meditation. You name it, we have tried it. All in all, I try to remain optimistic and know we will succeed eventually. 10/05/07 pregnant but miscarried @ 5 wks. Moving on to donor eggs with sister in Feb 2009. Update--pregnant ! with donor eggs! 2/23/09
Treatments
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- Helped me get pregant with my 2nd fresh IVF but miscarried. It did help me get 18 eggs with that cycle
- Artificial Insemination Not Working
- 6 inseminations using clomid and follistim. The last insemination was April 07 using 225 cc's of follistim.
- Basal Thermometer Working / Worked
- I found it very helpful in understanding my body
- Clomid Not Working
- Only used clomid for 2 months in the very beginning 3 yrs ago.
- Estrogen Patch Somewhat Helpful
- Used it for my 3 FETs
- Folic Acid Somewhat Helpful
- I take many vitamins daily
- Follistim Working / Worked
- Used Follistim the last 3 inseminations and 1 fresh IVF. 2nd fresh IVF worked but miscarried
- hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Working / Worked
- Used for all 5 IVFs and IUI's
- HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Working / Worked
- I found this a bit painful
- In Vitro Fertilization Working / Worked
- 1 fresh IVF, retrieved 10 eggs, all 10 fertilized, 5 made it to blast. Put in 2 grade A embies...no luck. Froze 3 embies, put all 3 with frozen IVF, no luck. 3rd IVF got 18 eggs, 11 fertilized, 7 embryos. put back 3 blasts, froze 2 day 3 embies and 2 day 6 embies. got pregnant but Miscarried at 5 weeks. Did 2 FETs a few months later...both bfn

- I have the clearblue fertility monitor and I love it!
- Progesterone Working / Worked
- Used PIO shots after IVFs and suppositories after IUIs

- Tried it a very long time ago in the beginning of ttc
Close Endometriosis
I'm 38 years old and have been trying to conceive for 4 years. I had a laparoscopy 2 years ago when they discovered endo stage II. The doc told me he found a lot of endo but was surprised that I had no scarring.
Treatments
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- The surgery helped my monthly pain for about 3 months. The pain came back, then gone again. Now it seems like it comes and goes which is much better than before. update 06/08 -- I have not had any pain since my miscarriage? For the last 9 months I have had regular periods. (no pain!)Not sure why but I am happy!
Open Adoption
Type: Open AdoptionMy husband and I have gone through infertility for three years and are now considering adoption. We want to have at least 3 children weather we concieve them or someone else does. I am a preschool teacher and have worked with children and parents for a very long time. I can love any child like my own! If anyone has adoption advice, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!
Open Twins, Triplets & More
My husband's dad is a twin and we are praying for twins with our next IVF! We would love to have an immediate family! Congrats to all of you who are doubly blessed!! :)
Open Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility
After 3 years of infertility, we just did our 3rd IVF and I got a BFP!!!!!!! I had to join here because I have been waiting a long time to be a part of the preggos!!! My blood test is on Monday. Pray for big numbers for me!!!!! UPDATE Too bad....miscarried at 5 weeks. UPDATE AGAIN...pregnant with sister's donated eggs!!! I'm on cloud 9!!
