Flight attendant for a major airline who has come searching for answers. I have had severe case of dermatitis herpetiformis and can not take Dapsone! Nothing topical on skin lesions gives relief. Now have very painful Sciatica which started when I was on medical leave for the DH. MRI shows 3 herniated discs with annular tears at L5 and S1, which is the cause for the Sciatica in my left hip radiating down my left leg and foot.

Hugs and flowers for you + my prayers. I have had that sciatica off and on for many years..arthritis type cream rubbed the leg, helps as well as osteopathic ajustments + not walking on soft surface have helped me. I am not having trouble right now..PTL...when it flares it feels like my L. hip joint is raw hamburger and have severe pain from hip to heel. I certainly feel for you. Also raking walks has helped me. I used to work on cement floors + had a fall onto a log that aggravated mine. Take care, we need your kind of worker. Evie

Close Celiac Disease
I have a very severe case of Dermatitis Herpetiformis and am highly allergic to Dapsone. I am a Flight attendant for a major airline and the rash (itching, bleeding, weeping, scabbing) is making it impossible to work. I have come here seeking answers and hopefully great support from others.
Treatments
- Gluten Free Diet Not Working
- Levaquin Working / Worked
- This is what has worked. Itching makes the sites infected and the Levaquin antibiotic pills definitely calm it down and make the infection go away. The itching and redness decrease, and you can get a handle on it. It has helped me tremendously!
- Prayer Somewhat Helpful
- Though I can't see evidence of healing, prayer is something that I absolutely must do! My life and wellbeing is in God's almighty hands.
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- They lift me up, they try to understand my feelings. (Which are not very good at the moment.)
- Tetracycline Not Working
Close Sciatica
SCIATICA started July 2007. Chiropractor, Physical Therapy didn't work! Pain is not in lower back (which I have heard is quite common) but my left hip/buttock which radiating in left leg into foot,causing numbness at times. There is also constant tingling in my left leg. Lying down helps more than anything. I have been on medical leave since June 24, 2007 because of DH (Celiac disease symptoms which have subsided for now) then the Sciatica showed up! HELP!!!
Treatments
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- It definitely doesn't work.
- Stretching Not Working
- Makes my pain ten times worse at this point!
