I'm a strong independent woman. Happily married to a magnificant man for 31 years. I have 2 adult children. My son lives in Thailand. He is 36 years old. He is an independent gypsy. My daughter will be 30 in August. She is a loving caring person. I am an accounts receivable manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific. I love my job & the people I work with. I enjoy painting murals. 6/16/08 update - I'm a strong independent woman. Happily married to a magnificent man for 32 years. I have two adult children. My son lives in Oregon. He is 36 years old. He is an independent gypsy. My daughter will be 31 in August. She is a loving caring person who teaches English at Cambridge Rindge and Latin, Cambridge, MA. I was an accounts receivable manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific. I loved my job & the people I worked with. I enjoyed painting murals. The reason my activities are stated in the past is I was on my way to work on 1/2/07 at 5:00 am. I hit black ice at about 60 MPH. The car spun, hit a tree & rolled over. I had multiple traumas to LUE. including brachial plexus injury, clavicle fx, shoulder dislocation, distal radius fx, forearm degloving, and multiple metacarpal dx, severed brachial artery, collapsed left lung and three broken ribs and bleeding on the brain..

Thank you for your nice comment. It has taken me ages to be able to load photos on here. I don't know why and it will only let me load one at a time. I do sell my jewelry at craft shows. I have only done one show so far this year due to the fact that my husband and I currently have no car. Hopefully that will all change and I can get back at it. Hope you will have a nice weekend. Close Accidents
I was on my way to work on 1/2/07 at 5:00 am. I hit black ice at about 60 MPH. The car spun, hit a tree & rolled over. I broke 3 ribs, shatered my left arm, broke my clevical, left lung colapsed, & severed anartery. I have no movement from my elbow down. The only feeling is constant tingling & various levels of pain. I have surgey scheduled on 7/12/07 to have nerves removed from the left leg & probably my right leg to be placed in my bicep & attached to the damaged nerves in my shoulder.
Treatments
- Surgery, Hand Too Soon to Tell
- Surgery scheduled 7/12/07 to remove nerve(s) from my left leg & probably my right leg to be placed in my bicep & attached to my shoulder where the damaged nerves are.
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Working / Worked
- First attempt failed on 6/23/08. MRI required in order to see if entry can be made between shoulder blades and thread the lead to my neck. MRI scheduled 6/27/08

I had gastric bypass 6 years ago. I lost 155 pounds. I gained 25 pounds. I wanted to lose 15 pounds. Jan 2, 2007 I had a horrible accident that changed my life forever. I have Brachial Plexus Injury. My left arm does not move or have feeling from the elbow down. I go to Mass General Hospital doctors for all my treatment. I’m stress eating therefore I’m gaining weight again. I want to talk to people instead of eating in hopes of controlling my stress. I’m looking forward to your help. Janelle

- Gastric Bypass Surgery Working / Worked
- Worked great for me. You do have to watch your diet all the time. It is not a cure all. You can undue the procedure if you don't pay attention.

Open Amputees
I'm having my left arm amputated just above the elbow on 11/21/08. I have Brachial Plexus injury due to an auto accident on 1/2/07.
Treatments
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- I have been to therapy for 1 1/2 years trying to keep my arm and fingers mobile and reduse atrophy as much as possible. My left arm is dead from the elbow down. The therapy did nothing to help my arm. I spent numerous hours, days, weeks, etc. for no gain.
- Skin Graft Working / Worked
- I had de-gloving from the middle of the back of my hand to half way up my forearm. The graft looks amazing. I could not believe my arm could look as good as it does. The de-gloving was so deep I could see the four tendons to my fingers clearly. The graft is fairly smooth. It does look like a burn but not bad at all considering the amount of damage. It's too bad that once the amputation is done the graft won't be there anymore.
