    • Close Epilepsy & Seizures

I had my first convulsion at 9 weeks of age. Am now 47. Have been on meds pretty much my whole life, only getting off them for about 3 years when I was 9 or so. Currently on 2 meds.

      Treatments

      Depakote Working / Worked
      Phenobarbital Working / Worked
      Surgery, Brain Working / Worked
Had surgery of the LTL in July 2007. Has been a complete success thus far, touch wood!!
    • Close Parenting Teenagers (12-18)

I am the single mom of 2 teenage boys, 14 and 17. My eldest son has lived with his dad for the last couple of years, but since he lives just up the street I still see him often even if I don't feel the closeness that I once did to him. My younger son stays with me, visiting his dad on the weekend. He just seems to be hitting the point where he's pushing my buttons now so I think I'm going to be looking for support.

      Treatments

      Patience Somewhat Helpful
Try to remain patient with them, but it can be difficult sometimes. Yes, I know they're teens, but I have trouble with the disrespect.
      Walking Somewhat Helpful
I have always enjoyed going for walks, and still find it helpful, especially when I am angry/frustrated with how things are going with the boys.
    • Open Parkinson's Disease

It's actually my father who has PD. Was diagnosed in March '07 and has progressively declined. I'm his only child so I am fighting my way through the system trying to advocate on his behalf.

    • Open Dementia

My dad has been diagnosed as having cognitive memory loss. He's had strokes, TIAs and also has Parkinson's. Doctor isn't sure if the problems are caused by early Alzheimers or from vascular damage.

      Treatments

      Razadyne Too Soon to Tell
Just prescribed today -- time will tell I guess.
      Lipitor Somewhat Helpful
Dont really think of this as being related to dementia but its part of Dads prescriptions nonetheless.
