I am 38 years old, married 16 yrs, with two beautiful children. A boy-15 y/o & a girl 13 y/o. I have just been diagnosed with Hyperthyroid. Before this I have always been very healthy. I am a runner and I love to work out with weights as well. All that has been put on hold ever since the symptoms started about 6 wks ago!:( I hope to get some advice and hear some success stories on this forum. Thanks. Mandy

Hug
The puppies kind of fill the void when my kids are not with me. I have joint custody with my ex and I dont see them everyday. They really are very cute. My kids love them! Especially my alost 16yr old son. I had a pomeranian once. My ex got it for me when we were dating. It got very attached to my Father. When I got married I left the dog with him. It was his great love besides my Mom.

I am doing great. Keeping busy and working a lil more and spending time with the two teenage kids of mine.. Spring break starts for them now.. My daughter is going to see her bf all week in MD. I have two new lil puppies. Got them two months ago. They are lil black yorkapoos. Part Yorkshire Terrior and Poodle. Their names are Lexy and Roxy. Too Cute!

Close Infidelity
I am 38 yrs old, & have been married almost 17 yrs. We have two beautiful teenagers. a 15y/o boy & a 14y/o girl. I found out Apr 10, that my husband had a 4-6 mos affair about 4 yrs ago, with a then close family friend. It devastated me to the point of getting very ill. I have now forgiven him:) I am happier & more peaceful than I have felt in yrs. God is good! He still struggles with what he did. I have faith that we will make it through this. There is hope for those of you still hurting. M~

- I have forgiven my husband:) I trust him again and I am happy. We are working through the affects of the affair. He has more difficulty than me. M~

- Music has always been a HUGE part of my life. I have been singing since elementary school. In very dark times, I just turn up the music or watch music videos and it takes me to somewhere much happier:)

- I find peace through prayer. God has given me back my joy:) I think of it as a present for true forgiveness. M~
Close Graves' Disease
I got very ill in May 07. I was diagnosed with severe Graves about 6 wks later. I was put on Methimazole 60mg at first, then slowly brought down. The meds were affecting my liver and WBC, so I had to have RAI on Aug 31st. It went very well. No side affects, felt great, even started a full time job on Sept 25th. RAI is not as scary as the rumors. M~
Treatments
- Methimazole Working / Worked
- I have been taking since June 06 started on 60mg, down to 10mg a day after RAI. I will stop taking soon. M~
- Radioactive Iodine Working / Worked
- Rai worked like a charm for me... No negative side affects. I feel so great now. It has been 2 months. M~
Open Families & Friends Of Addicts
My Mother is an alcoholic/ drug addict. She has been since I was 2. I moved in with my Grandmother & Uncle at that time. They raised me. She has been in and out of my life since I can remember. Right now things are pretty bad again. I choose to keep my distance when she is using. I think seeing her waste her life has made me a stronger person & a better parent:) M~

Open Healthy Eating
I have always tried to live a healthy lifestyle, working out, running. I have been lucky in that I don't have to worry about my weight. I chose to eat healthy(most of the time:) because it feels better. I have been sick for a few months & unable to work out. I also am probably going to have to start watching what I eat soon, due to thyroid problems. Just trying to get back in the swing of things:) M~

- I work out with weights and run. I haven't been able to work out since April 07. Hopefully I will start again soon;) I love the adrenaline rush I get from a good run or work out:) M~
Open Parenting Teenagers (12-18)
I am 38 yrs old:) Married for almost 17 yrs, I have two wonderful/beautiful teenagers. Son-15 & daughter-14 on Oct. 22. They are good kids. They fight alot. I mean we need to go on Dr. Phil, ALOT!! I hear it's normal, but it doesn't feel that way. My daughter is angry towards me alot:( She says very hurtful things at times:( They are both spoiled. I love them with everything that I am... M~
