To stand all alone in the rain.
Do you know what it feels like?
Everybody does...
To do things you hate yourself for.
Do you know what it feels like?
Maybe you do...
To fear the ones that care about you.
Do you know what it feels like?
I hope you don't...
To run for your life.
Do you know what it feels like?
You probably never did...
To be beaten again and again.
Do you know what it feels like?
I dont think you do...
To be so afraid you can barely breath.
Do you know what it feels like?
I hope you never will...
To live everyday with what they did.
Do you know what it feels like?
I dont think you ever will...

that's really good!!! (((HUGS)))

The power of the past is only in the power we give it in our mind. At this present moment are you being beaten? To continue to carry the past is to give your tormentors power to continue beating you. Do you want to give them that power? Or do you want to be free and empowered in a new life? To live well is the best revenge.

Pretty, Irish songbirds are oft vilely attacked;
Envious tormentors covet your beautiful plumage and soul,
And they leave your body and heart painfully wracked,
But these jealous fools will never reach their dark goal.
You stood alone in the pelting cold rain
You stood alone midst self-hate and coerced sins
Love became a mere tepid bath that barely lulls your pain
Yet, they lose as your heart sings and your face grins.

Sundeva, no it is not happening anymore at this present moment, but I find your comment almost hurtful. When your trauma was fresh in mind did you say to yourself "hey girl, it is not happening anymore so get on your bike" ? A lot happened in my life and I need to digest it in my own time. I am enjoying life, maybe even more than a lot of people around me do, but I can and I will no ignore half of my life because ignoring it will do more damage than confronting it.

Your poem says a lot about the horrors that you have been through without directly saying it aloud. Your true strength must be incredible. G

You are right.
I do know exactly how some of this feels.
Very sadly, you know much more.
TryingtoCope7 above, said " Your true strength must be incredible." I agree.
I take it father..
Your true strength IS incredible.
You are incredible.
