Hey there. I have a greenfield filter too...although it's temporary and I have to have it out. I too must be on Coumadin for life, and I'm only 26. I can't believe youhave had 7 episodes of PE. Wow. You have been though a lot. Stay strong.

Are you in constant pain from more P.E.'s or something else? I'm on 12mg on Coumadin now and finally off the Lovenox shots!

Close Pulmonary Embolism
On 7 different occasions I have been diagnosed with pulmonary emboli. The first was in February of 2005. I've been on Coumadin therapy since then and have been told I will probably be on it for the rest of my life. About five months ago I had a Greenfield Filter placed below my heart. It's supposed to stop the clots from getting to my lungs. I had another clot April 29th of this year.
Treatments
- Lovenox Working / Worked
- I suppose it has worked. I haven't died from a clot just yet.
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Again, I guess it's working since I'm not dead yet.
- Neurontin Not Working
- It is supposed to help me with my constant chest pain. Not working so far.
- Wellbutrin Too Soon to Tell
- Just started it.
- Protonix Working / Worked
- Acid reflux pill. Seems to work.
- Hydromorphone Somewhat Helpful
- When my pain is beyond an 8 on the pain scale the 4mg pills don't even touch it. So far, with much frustration learning this, 4mg of IV dilaudid knocks the pain in half.
Close Sleep Apnea
I was diagnosed about two years ago with obstructive sleep apnea. I am evidently stopping my breathing around 30 to 40 times per hour.
