well here it is the last few hours of '07 and I for one am glad to see it go.It's been a very pain ful one for me.On 12/15/07 I had what they called a de-bridge ment op and then attached a vac pump to that. Well I have never had so much pain in my life and last friday I had that taken off as my knee has become contracted to the point where it will be useless to continue with the vac healing.I can tell you this I may have to have an above the knee operation but that pain that I endured with that vac pump is nothing but a torture mill. If any one has ever had that then you know what I mean. I have a drs appt next thursday to discuss future treatment .I am in worse shape now than I was before I ever had an amputation. sure hope it gets better soon and I'm still getting older every day ...(sighs)

Went to see my doc last fri he gave me two new ointments to use twce daily .hope fully these will help to heal me up . Does any one here go thru the VA hospital? I have private insurance but chose the VA because I earned it and it's free .And the VA that I go to at Bay Pines Fla , the care is excellent not like the Walter Reed . Hope fully I will be ready for a new leg in a month or so My thanks to Dave Harper for sending me two samples of his excellent products. He is just one of the many nice people on this site

well here it is november allready and I still am in the healin process.I have such poor circulation even after a by pass to help that last year. But I can see progress , hope fully by the end of the year I will be ready. the other day I was talking to an old friend and he asked me when I was going to get my wooden leg haha . that made me laugh. he's a bit older than me and I guess in his day that's what they were called. At this point in time a wooden leg would be just fine with me haha. I haven't walked across a room since January of 2006 when I fell .but alas one of these days it will happen.if the Lord is willing ...............
well it's 93 days post op and I am still healing .I have a large scab on the top of my leg above the amputation site .is this normal? the site where my leg was whacked off seems to be healing nicely. I'm getting a bit flustered with this healing crap.seems like I've had some thing on my leg either healing or draining since jan /06. some days it feels like I will never enjoy walking across the room again. but I "keep on truckin" . this site has many kewl people as I am beginning to find out . and the info is awesome . I'm learning every day thanks to all of you

it took me almost 6 months to heal, i had problem with large scab once they took the initial dressing off but it was were the incision had opened from the inside due to my problems with circulation in that area. but everything did heal. just be patient with it even though it can be frustrating. you will find many people on here that all vary significantly in how fast they were walking. keep up the positive thinking it makes all the difference.

it's been nearly a year since I commented .Wow how time flies.I'v ehad my prothestic leg since sept and slowly getting used to it.it was such a long time since i had my bka the muscles in my leg went on vacation....now I have to put them back to work .it's rough ..hurted like hell when i first tried to put weight on it.but after a few miles on walking with crutches and excersizing I am almost able to walk with one crutch. my goal is to be on the golf course by year's end .I won't be a better player but I'll be a more patient player .chop yer leg off and U WILL lern to be patient lol...my thanks to all the people that post comments on here ..U never know how it may help some one else .

today I got my second fitted socket , no brace can now walk with a cane ..when ever u think life sucks look over yer shoulder and see how far U are now .it works with me .never give up.if ya do what else it there to do???
