The week started with the death of one of our 14 year old students. It appears to be suicide. He was just starting his precious life and we are all heartbroken.
But more bad news today. I am hosting a girl from Germany. And tonight she learned that one of her friends from Germany - who is also an exchange student - died suddenly in her sleep about 2 days ago. She is heartbroken and cannot comprehend what is happening. Please keep us in your prayers. I really do not understand what is happening to our world - so much senseless dying. Love to you all! Lana

Oh Lana my heart is hurting with you. Too much suffering in this life. I am so sorry for your exchange students loss, she must feel so lost being away from home, yet clearly God placed her in the right home at this time so she can be in your lovin presence how perfect yet I know sad and difficult for you both. My prayers for you and her both and love and hugs. Ringing our bell and thinking of you and Alicia always, Kate

there is no understanding for our part...I wish I could understand. how sad for everyone. I hate it for all of you...especially for the young boy's parents and family. God bless you as you tend to the exchange student. He will equip you with the right words...as you already know the truest meaning of loss. Love, Dale...Brandon's Mom

Oh Lana, I will keep that girl & the other student's family in my prayers. I also wonder what is happening to our younger generation. This world is just getting so wicked. I pray that God will give you the strength to help this girl that is staying with you as much as you can. God bless you and also help you through this trying time....Hugs, Connie

Oh, this is so very sad! How awful for your student, and you having to deal with trying to comfort and support her during this time! Life isn't fair, we all know that, but by God's grace we are given the strength to go on. God Bless you both! Love, Judy

am so sorry for her grief. She is lucky to have you as such a compassionate and understanding friend and mentor.
When a young person takes their life it is such a tragedy. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. It seems some of our children are expected to grow up so fast. They are unprepared for all the emotional challenges.

Lana, It is just so shocking and unbelievable to me (even after all I have been through and seen) that a 14 yr old child could have enough in their short lives to make them whant to die. My mind cannot accept it. I am so sorry for both of these new tradgedies in your life. Lana, I know you will be a comfort to those there that need you. You are so kind and so wise when it comes to people and grief. My prayers are with all of yall, Love you, please take care of yourself too,Peggy
