My mother died 4 months ago. My sister, Sue, has the only copy of her will that is in existence.
You never think that it will happen in your own family - but it is happening. My sister is fighting
giving me or my brother a copy of the will.
Her reasoning? "It probably is not a legal will" and therefore she is not required to send it pursuant to
the laws that state she must provide a copy fo the will. I don't know where that is coming from but I am laughing out loud at her statement..
So ok - then she has to cough up with 1/3rd of my mother's assets - and she has to do that soon.
I think she thinks that if she just doesn't talk about it - we won't notice - then we'll forget.
Sister Sue s certifiable I think. She has shown signs of getting "out there" increasingly over the past
few years and it seems that now that my mother has died she has taken up where my mother left
off - really crazy, mean and selfish. Bless her little insecure heart.
Death sure does bring out the true colors of people in a family. I don't really care about the
"stuff" - there wasn't that much to worry about. It is the idea that she has decided that she
will make all decisions in reference to my mother's possessions. I have fond memories of some
of those items but that doesn't seem to be of interest to Sue. If she was going to
address this issue she would have done so before 4 months had passed by.
Is she the executor?
Sad! Money is truely the root of all evil! Im sorry your having to go through that in addition to the loss of your mother!

Aw I'm sorry LJ! At least you can have a little sense of humor about the situation. I've told you this before (with the pathetic clicke of neighbors) that you are the better person and things will work out for you.
I do hope this gets settled quickly, death brings enough pain and family shouldn't cause you more grief over it.
I hope you're well.

My grandfather had a goofy little transistor radio. the black dials looked like eyes to me, and the speaker like a big open mouth. My memories of my grandfather are tied to that radio, Vin Scully's voice calling a Dodger game from the kitchen.
Sorry about your mom!
