About Me
The Lord's richly blessed me. I've been married for 28 years, taught school for 29 years, live in the same small town as my husband's family. My students are my spiritual children because we were unable to have our own. Creating a family atmosphere in my classroom is one way to ensure life-long relationships with the kids God gives me to love throughout the school year.

Close Caregivers
My husband's dad passed May 22, 2007. His death was painful as he was one of my husband's best friends. His mom has Dementia. She forgets who has and hasn't died. She doesn't remember to do many daily things and no longer drives to her favorite coffee shop. We want to keep her in her home as long as she is safe.
Close Bereavement
Death has companioned me throughout my lifetime. Countless beloved ones have passed from this life into the next. People say that time heals...that may be true, but time does not always answer questions, but I learned that God is in control. My trust is in him and him alone during these tough journeys through loneliness.
Open Infertility
My husband and tried over 12 years to have a child of our own. After 8 miscarriages, failed adoptions, and a near death experience (mine), we stopped trying...but still wonder about and recognize what we have missed out on...
Open Breast Cancer
Stage: I (T1 N0)After numerous mammograms and biopsies and the diagnosis of breast cancer in my right breast; April 19, I had a mastectomy. The pathology report showed undiagnosed cancer in my diseased breast. If I had chosen a a lumpectomy, I'd be in a lot of trouble
Treatments
- Chemotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- I'll have a port put in the morning of May 20 then be off for my first treatment. I'm nervous about the port placement and first treatment.
- Mastectomy Working / Worked
- I'm grateful that I had a mastectomy. I am only 4 weeks this side of surgery. My incision is healing well; so well that I start Chemotherapy early.
