Close Epilepsy & Seizures
I am a 31 year old that was born with epilepsy. The ambilical cord was around my neck causing lack of oxygen to my brain. Still having seizures today. I have been told that they are (intractable) Partial Complex and secondarily generalized seizures.
Treatments
- Depakote Working / Worked
- Was on it with the tegretol for a long time, doctor said since I was approaching the child bearing age that I needed to be weaned off of it.
- Dilantin Not Working
- Was too young to remember, I think I took it.
- Gabitril Not Working
- Not for sure if it's in the same catagory as Neurontin or not. But it did absolutely nothing for me.
- Keppra Not Working
- Had an increase in seizures
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- I guess that it's working been on it for several several years
- Lamictal Somewhat Helpful
- Dr just upped my dosage to 300mg twice a day
- Lyrica Not Working
- Had no effect at all, actually I'm allergic to it.
- Mysoline Not Working
- Felt like I had a hangover. My side was numb...AWFUL.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Just started it in 06.
- Tegretol Working / Worked
- Can't really remember. Been off of it for about 7 years
- Topamax Not Working
- Had no effect on me, did'nt even help with the headaches.
- Trileptal Not Working
- I think that I tried this as well, and it had no effect on me.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Calms me, so I don't get too stressed out and have a seizure, but how do you avoid stress?
- Zonegran Not Working
- Could'nt take it due to Sulfa allergy.
Close Migraine Headaches
Started to get migraines just about a year ago. There is a family history of it, but the Dr is not sure if the epilepsy has something to do with it also.
Treatments
Open Dizziness & Vertigo
Sometimes I get Dizzy spells, some are hard to tell if it's a seizure coming on or just a dizzy spell. My neurologist has diagnosed me with having dizziness problems.
Treatments
- Sleep Working / Worked
- If I lay down for a while it will eventually go away, especially those little floaters you see that are'nt there.
