"Had a great week! Very happy with myself!"
4:34pm Friday
I'm really proud of myself! Mood
Monday, July 27, 2009 | A Happy story

I am really proud of myself for making it to Day 3 of eating healthy.

Breakfast today was mandrin oranges, blueberries and bananas - yes again - mmmm mmmm good! - Also strawberries, blueberries and yogurt (McD's Parfait 160 w/granola) - Hey if I'm gonna stop I mise well get something healthy right.

Snacks were fiber one bar 140, cheese stick 80 and almonds 90 - Also, sliced apples, grapes, yogurt and some walnuts (McDd's Fruit & Walnut 210)

Lunch was cut up cucumbers, tomatoes, zuchinni and light ranch (80)

Dinner was turkey burger (130) (no bread) w/salsa (10), grilled zuchinni and a cup of 2% milk.

MILK DOES A BODY GOOD!!!

I did have diet pop and I told myself no more, once a week is my limit.  I really needed the caffeine.  I also had an energy drink (20).    I have been drinking water otherwise.  Will try to get in more.

I wanted to go to the gym but my stomach was acting up and .....  I think my body is trying to get used to all these fruits and veggies if you know what I mean.

Hope to run or walk tomorrow.

Yesterday I did get to Belly Button Hill, Jimmy played while I walked and ran laps.  It's so nice and the weather has been perfect, today is a little warm.

I don't want to do too much then fall off the wagon so trying to plan my days that include some fun exercise like playing ball with Jimmy but do get in some good runs too.  Plan on the Total Conditioning on Wednesday and Friday night.

P.S.  Tonight I also cooked pork loin for hubby, whole chicken for chicken tacos and whatever else I can think of, and salmon burgers.  I made chicken salad with left over grukked chicken so there is plenty of food in the house already prepared which makes it so much easier for Jim and I.  So have plenty of good meats and all kinds of veggies for the week - Went to the store and got tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, green peppers, celery, we have zuchinni from the garden already.

I also got blueberries, bananas, strawberries, pears, yogurt and cottage cheese - does that pretty much cover it all?  I will try to add in carbs like wheat bagels, etc. as we go along and see what my body wants in order to lose.  My weigh in day will be on Sunday so no scale till then.  I was 143 so lets see if I can lose 1-2 lbs by next Sunday.

I have 6 weeks till my 5k and I'd like to be down to 135 - that's 8 lbs - I CAN DO IT THIS TIME AND NOTHING WILL STOP ME - EVEN MY HUBBY!

Great job Kathy! You are getting back on track and every day that you stay strong is another day that helps you feel like "I can DO this!" and keep you moving in the right direction. I love fruit, I eat it constantly and I love all of the summer fruits. Yum! It sounds like you have a lot of good healthy foods made ahead that you can pack for lunches and meals! Keep your chin up and keep pushing forward. You are doing a great job. Day 4 here you come!! Woohoo!

Yeah! Another good day. Keep up the great work! I think I am going to cook up some pasta primavera this evening with my zucchini and some other veggies and boneless chicken breast. Yum! But cooking multiple meals is a good idea.

5K! Whoo Hoo! You can do it!

I caught up with all your entries finally. John is off and so am I so it's easy to fall behind. Sorry. I feel bad that you were venting the other day and I didn't see. But it's good that you're using your journal and getting it all out. So important for us. And I have not reached my goal. I've been in the 140's for almost 4 months now and I need to hit 134.5 to be at goal. That's half of who I was. So we all struggle, but we win when we keep at it and YOU are a keeper at it and I am going to be just like you. Thanks for leading the way Kathy! I love ya!! Keep up the food logs and journals! I love reading about you.
