Sunday, July 26, 2009 | A Happy story

Today has been a great day so far.  Breakfast was mandrin oranges, blueberries and bananas cut up.  Snack was cheese stick and fiber one bar and lunch was a small salad w/chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers and light ranch.  I will slowly add carbs cuz I think that's where I go overboard and crave other stuff.  I had to slow down on the fiber one bars and granola bars too, I think that was another issue.  I feel really good today.  Hubby worked afternoons yesterday so I waited up for him and we stayed up and talked like we normally do when he's on that shift.  I just can't seem to go to bed until he's home next to me, when he works midnights though, Jimmy sleeps in our bed with me - which he loves!!!  I just have to separate us by these body pillows cuz he will punch and kick me all night long, hee hee.

 

He is doing great, swam in the pool today.  I picked up the yard, cleaned up the yard a little and now that Jim left I need to vacuum and wash my truck - it's pretty dirty, sometimes the car wash doesn't get everything off.  I'm not sure what we are gonna do later but I need to clean house and finish up laundry. 

 

I just wanted to update and let everyone know that today is another good day, staying focused!

So salad for dinner, with chicken, green peppers, zuchinni, cucumbers, tomatoes and light ranch oh and a pc of provolone that I tore up, added a different flavor.  Also had the left over salmon patty 120 cals on a 1/2 wheat bagel with little mayo to make sure I have enough cals.  I will have something later since it's only 5:30 - Jimmy is gonna play at the playground and I'm gonna walk at Belly Button Hill tonight - getting ready to leave in a bit.

    Next time maybe you can go swimming WITH Jimmy! That way you can play around in the pool and also do some laps and get a workout in at the same time :) That just occured to me when you mentioned the pool.

    I know how hard it can be with trying to keep the carbs under control. Sometimes I look at my food log and there are like three muffins in there! I will have an double fiber english muffin and then a carrot muffin later and then a raisin muffin too. And I see that and I am like WHAT?! I struggle with finding the balance with my carbs too. I have found that if I pick 'healthy' tasting muffins, I won't be tempted to eat more and more and more. I get the vegan and flourless crappy ones for the purpose of keeping it under control ;) hehe

    Blech! Vegan and flourless muffins.... ;)
    I hope you have a KING size bed Kathy! Goodness! I get mad if anyone is in my sleeping zone. Like in volleyball, we stand on the court and do the full impact sprinkler arms out spin and stake our claim on our area (or deny that THAT ball was ours because it wasn't in our area when we missed it). I need that full sprinkler zone in bed too. It's ALL about ME ha ha ha.

    Your food looks so amazing and great. Good job! You are getting the full value out of each calorie. Just make sure you get enough calories. I remember you mentioned being low on calories one day - I should pop back to that journal and see if you got those calories in there.
    How are you doing with your water? Getting enough?
    Carbs are a pain in my butt too. Good job being aware of it and taking care of it.

    I love my hubby, but I am with Laura on my sleeping zone! I just LOVE your last couple of journals. It is so nice to see you back on track and happy! Way to go Kathy! I am so glad that you have had a couple of great days in a row! One day at a time, right?

    I have my trigger foods as well, and yep, carbs are it. Sometimes that just triggers me to keep eating. I know I stop and ask myself if I am hungry and after eating carbs, the answer sometimes is yes when I know I shouldn't be. It is such a fine line, because I am starving if I don't get enough carbs either. I love Fiber 1 bars by the way. Chocolate! Yum!

    Mi gusta el chocolate! (I love chocolate!) I am learning Spanish on my Nintendo DS, My Spanish Coach. Just learned this one yesterday!
