Slept in a little since Jim had a friend over and stayed past 11 - ouch, Jim had to get up at 4:30 to go to work, hope he makes it thru the day.

Jimmy and I had breakfast (cereal w/ bananas), then I went outside and painted in the dog house (air conditioner trim).  Yeah, Yeah, our dogs are spoiled - since they love it outside and with the weather getting a little warmer, we decided to put in a unit in their houses.  I don't know if I had mentioned before but Maggie we got from a kennel so she was always locked up in a kennel.  Zeus kept getting out of his owners very small yard so he has plenty of yard here with having almost 2 acres.  Jim turned the old chicken coup (really it used to be one before we got here) into a huge dog house, three stalls with doggy doors, each have their own sleeping area with carpet, they have wood holders for their food bowls to keep off the ground and a few yrs ago when he built he put in radiant heat (heated flooring).  Since we work all day and don't trust them in the house when we are gone he set it up so that way they can go in and out as they please in their own houses and when we are home they can come in and snuggle with us :-).  They love having freedeom and really they are very very happy and love their space instead of being locked up.  Our yard is fenced in and zeus has a collar cuz he would always get out of his last owners yard so to play it safe we just put an electric fence around the wood fence to make sure they don't escape.  Zeus did escape once in almost 4 yrs.  This past yr his collar was off and he dug right under the fence, thank goodness he came back.  I don't know how long he was out but that morning when I went to check on them he was outside of the fence and waiting to get back in like he knew where he was safe.  I think he saw a coyote and decided to catch one, don't know if he did but he was happy to be back in his own yard.  I don't know what I would do w/o him. They make me feel safe when I know Jim is working.  Lots have been going on with the economy and I like the extra protection.

So food for today besides cereal and banana (335 cals) was a Power Bar (Fruit Smoothie), 210 cals it was good.  Had it on my way home from Belly Button Hill :-)  I took Jimmy there, we just got back.  He played at the park and rode his bike and I ran and walked around the Hill :-).  It was so darn hot, I felt like I didn't do so well but I got in 48 min.  Tomorrow is my big day, I'm excited but nervous.  I need some tunes though I think in order to have beat to keep my speed up.  I should ask Karen, Pat's wife if she has something I can use (Pat is doing the biking).  He is doing a full Iron Man this year in TN, the 1/2 Iron Man he did this month took him about 7 hrs (biking, swimming and running), I can't imagine how long it will take him to do the full Iron Man.  Wow.  I was just thinking after this 1st official race, I will continue and try to beat my time each and every year.

But I wanted to update and will increase my goals for tomorrow too since I won't have time tomorrow to update with the run and I have a bridal shower to go to.  But I can't wait to tell you our time.  Pat wants to beat 1 hr and 5 min - that's how long it took him last year when he did by himself.  Can we do it?  Yes we can.  I have to do 10 min miles to get all my running done in 40 min and him to bike 11.5 miles he has to finish at around 20-25 min or less to beat the time.  If I don't I won't be upset since my 1st race.  

Well I'd better sign off...  I have to clean up the house a little then I'm getting my hair touched up and trimmed.  Jim should be home when we get home around 3-4 then we will do stuff around the yard.  I want to pick out some more weeds out of the garden, pick up the yard after the dogs and finish up some laundry as usual.  I still have to wrap the bridal shower gift.  This girl is 28 I think, Jim's sister's friend.  She came to our wedding and has been Dee's friend forever.  She helped Dee a lot with our wedding so I had to spend a little more on her gift just to say thanks!
