I wanted to tell you all THANKS for all your hugs, support and birthday wishes!
I'm doing ok - had time to think about it all and after talking with my husband being off may be a good thing. He said it would be good for me to finally have a break, have time to be with our son and just enjoy the summer. So I called my bosses as soon as I found out about the other situation and they decided to keep the new girl they hired even though at the time she didn't even start. They didn't want to be put in that scenario again of me looking for a full time. I was PISSED for sure after giving them 11 years and doing anything and everything for them and always being there for them. They stressed that this job may never go to full time and they wanted someone that only wants part time. They also realized that paying some less money was good for the business. This girl that is starting is only going to make $18 an hour. They always thought I was overpaid at $25.50 but the other lady that I was gonna replace at the other company was actually making $33.96 an hour so you just don't know. I always thought I was underpaid but I thought I was doing pretty well making an average of $53K a year and never getting a degree. I was looking for a full time job when I found that part time job and it took me 6 months so it's pretty scary.
My husband said it's the best time to have off - THE SUMMER, plus he said I can concentrate on reaching my goals - which I thought that was very sweet of him to think of that. Here's me thinking I'm gonna have to cancel my gym membership but it would be great to keep for that reason, give Jimmy playtime and me time and then we could also use the pool. I'm gonna make the best out of the time I'm off and just go from there. Enjoy it while I can plus I have so many projects at home to get done finally.
I was worried about getting unemployment so I've been super nice to them and they said they would not deny me so hope they keep their word cuz I need something coming in. I have to work Tuesday and Thursday and then I'm supposed to be done - after I get my 1st unempl. check, I'm not answering my phone if they call. This girl that they hired does not know everything I did and dealing with payroll, there are qtrly reports that need to get done and also union reports and she has no clue - hey that's what interviews are for right, to make sure this person knows her stuff and basically they never asked for my view so it's up to them to deal with the issues that come up cuz I'm not helping them. They will really have to pay to get things fixed or cleaned up. If things are late, you get fined so I hope that happens or that girl decided it's too much and leaves and then they will be really screwed.....
Anyways, now is my time to get on track and I still am going to go thru with the Duathlon at the end of June so now is the time to get after it to make sure I do my best.

My plan is to get on here daily to report my day and also catch up with everyone - I feel great being back!

Oh I'm SOOOOOO happy that you're feeling better about this and looking at the positives of spending more time with Jimmy and more YOU time and getting some projects done. I hope you're able to keep the gym membership! And I'm so excited you'll be updating more :). Happy Late Birthday love!!

It's great that Jim is being so understanding and caring about the situation and your personal goals. I sure hope the unemployment really pans out. I'd mention to the new girl how much you make and what they save having her instead, but I'm really bitchy so maybe you shouldn't leave them with a disgrunteled employee.

I am so glad that you had a nice birthday and you had a chance to sort through your emotions and clear your head a bit... I know it must be so scary to be thrown into this situation and I keep thinking about you, like I wonder how Kathy is doing... I was so glad to see a post :) I think it would be a really great idea to keep your gym membership if at all possible because like you said, it would be really fun to have the pool to use and Jimmy can play and enjoy his summer at the same time you are enjoying yours and getting workouts in. I am really glad that they are going to follow through their promise about the unemployment. You deserve to be treated fairly after all of that time with the company. Stay strong, keep yourself in motion with exercise and Jimmy, and keep that chin up! We love you Kathy! Smile! :)

I am so happy for you. It sounds great to have some time off! I can't wait for my time off. I applied for this summer job, but they called today and said that their enrollment was low so they might not need me. That is okay too because then I can have the summer completely off! Yay for time off!
