IM DEAF HAD MANY OPS ON BOTH EARS, ABCESS ON THE BRAIN, IT WOULD NEED ME TO WRITE A BOOK FOR THE AMOUNT OF OPERATIONS IVE HAD ON EARS AND HEAD, IM OUT OF WORK, IM UNEMPLOYED UPHOLSTERER, Ok i have been asked to tell what ops i have had. Born deaf in left ear, with pheaumonia, and paralysed on left side of face, had severe lisp, had speech therapy for 8 years, my speech is ok so im told only get loud now and again thats all. NOW THE LIST MASTOID OPS I WOULD SAY ABOUT 25 AT THE LEAST. BONE SCRAPES ABOUT 20. I WAS 1ST PERSON TO HAVE CAVITY BUILT INSIDE OF EAR SO ANY WEEPING WOULDNT TRAVEL UPWARDS TOWARDS BRAIN AGAIN. Tinnitus BAD but im winning i wont let it beat me. Dizzy spels about 10 a day some last about 5 minutes, but im left muzzy headed for few hours. Labrinthectomy on right ear finished my hearing off completely, a few years ago, so lost ALL my hearing late, yes i have ups and downs, but HEY who doesnt in life thats life isnt it. Polyp removals 6 nerve removal in side of face. Suction clean out drainage abcess just under ear and behind about 8 weeks ago had them removed and another mastoid op. I could be here for weeks with this list as it does go on and on. BUT I NEVER SAY DIE, AND S T I L ENJOY LIFE.THE ONLY THING THAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT THERE ISNT MUCH TEXT ON TV THE AMOUNT OF CHANNELS THERE IS AND I CAN ONLY GET ABOUT 4 CHANNELS WITH TEX Grrrrrrrrrrrr. My FAV SCI FI DOESNT HAVE TEXT. I hope that answers yuor question miss ??? i could have sent pm but better if anyone who came here can read it all.

Hi, I haven't been on for a while, and got on this morning and met you. I lost my hearing in both ears, one in the 80's and the other in 95 and am tormented 24/7 with tinnitus. I got a cochlear implant and it helps some but apparently too much wrong and tinnitus with it that it doesn't help me as much as ones who only have deafness. I'm thrown into a world that is likened to a nightmare. I tell people I don't live through a day I survive each day. Not only the tinnitus that drives me crazy but as you well know it leaves you with no nerves and low and behold I adopted a child who ended up having adhd that I have to try and tolerate. I'm sorry for going on and on but been wondering if there was someone who has tinnitus as bad as I do. To bad the medicine you said helped you to sleep and lower your tinnitus is addictive, I don't want to get additive to anything I hate to take medicine. I'm sorry you had to have so many operations and now you have problems that was brought on by that. God Bless You and I'll Be Thinking Of You .

yes tinnitus is a pain..but i got lucky, i was having muscle spasms in face, dr prescribed diazepam 5mg 1 to be taken at night, guess what?? i ended up getting 6 hours sleep a night, im profoundly deaf, so music or noise was of no use to me....if it helps someone great, if not im SORRY...but worth a try, i have to put up with tinnitus during the day, as diazepam is addictive, and i dont want to go down that road thanks...
