Well, color me surprised. I took the Dex on Tuesday and today is Friday and I still feel fine. Actually, I was on the go all day yesterday and had no problems. I was pretty exhausted by last night and was in bed by 8:30, but I slept well except for getting up once in the night to go to the bathroom. Really, the only problem I am having right now is pain around my abdomen. I have been in pain ever since my bone marrow biopsy, and I wish it would go away. I seem to be able to sleep ok as long as I don't try to roll over. That really, really hurts. I mentioned it to the nurse at UCSF and she did say that it can happen sometimes and that the pain can take a long time to go away. Unfortunately, I'm taking the enteric aspirin so I'm afraid to try to take any other pain relievers.
Yesterday, my sister bought me an early birthday present. I am typing this on my new laptop. She bought it for me so that if I have to have any other 5 hours procedures (like the transfusion I had last Friday) then I will have something to keep me intertained. I am very proud of myself in that I set up my home network all by myself. I still got it! I think Barbara just likes buying people gifts.
Today is my first day not working. I wish now I had waited to resign. Although, since Kings County had it's first H1N1 death this week, it's probably better I limit my contact with all those young people who have little kids at home. I sure am going to miss going to work. I can't wait until I get all through this treatment and can resume my life.
