Close Accidents
Five years ago I was in a car crash where I obtained a foot injury, I cannot bend the toes in my right foot ...Over time the pain has progressed up the rest of my leg, to my hip and back. I have a twisted hip, slight scoliosis, compressed discs and the onset of degenerative disc disease at the base of my spine. It leaves me in constant pain 24/7. Walking, sitting, standing, etc all make the pain worse, it has affected my sleep and my entire life.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- Helping with my back and neck problems. Not really working with my hip. It adjusts well but doesnt stay in the correct place always reverts back to the twisted position.
- Ibuprofen Somewhat Helpful
- Worked great at first but the more my body got used to to it the less it worked even with increased dosages.
- Ice Pack Somewhat Helpful
- Helps like the heating pad to soothe the pain and helps after the chiropractice adjustments.
- Massage Somewhat Helpful
- Given at my chripractor office work mostly like the adjustments I feel good right after them but as time goes on there isnt a major change in how I feel so still a lot of pain.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- Helped to keep my hip on track, but once I stopped (my treatment had finished after 2 years) within a month my hip reverted back to where it used to be.
- Pilates Somewhat Helpful
- Taken by my physiotherapist so helps me along side my PT sessions.
- Tramadol Not Working
- Made me feel like crap! I felt like I was going to throw up constantly.
- Elavil Not Working
- I didnt have any change in how I was feeling whilst on Amitriptyline so eventually stopped it.
- Neurontin Not Working
- Made me feel awful! I felt nauseous all of the time and had the worst heartburn of my life whilst taking it. I felt worse on it than I did off it!
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
In the past three years I have only had my period 6 times. After years of fighting with my doctor (who insisted this was normal!) I finally went to a family planning clinic and seen a doctor there. She ran tests and diagnosed me with PCOS.
Open Breast Cancer
Looking for help for the elderly woman whom I care for.
Open Dementia
I care for an 89 year old woman who suffers from dementia. My mum has also been one of the senior social care workers in a residental home for those suffering from dementia for around 30 years.
