I have lost almost 20ft. of small intestine due to gangrene.It is believed that I have chrohns as well as short bowel syndrome but it was not diagnosed until it was too late. I was found in a hospital room clinically dead. I was revived, given only a 20% chance of surviving. I left intensive care weighing only 69 pounds. I have kidney stones everyday and the bones of a 90 year old woman. I am 51 years old. On 2/5/05 I was dealt another blow when a pharmacy gave me the wrong medication that caused my heart to stop. I knew I was dying, called an ambulance, I was losing the feelings from my feet to my knees and everything was getting very dark all around me. They lost me in the ambulance, tried desperately to revive me but couldn't. At the hospital after 40 minutes they got a slight heartbeat back but told my husband and son that I would probably die before the night was through. I was in a coma for 2 weeks. When I woke up I was told the pharmacy had given me a very strong dose of blood pressure that looked identical to my pain medicine. I am also a rape survivor who was abducted from a mall parking lot at 10:15 a.m., I was very brutally beaten and had a fractured jaw. Luckily I had hostage negotiation training and I believe it saved my life. All of these events have made me a much stronger person and I thank God every day of my life just to be here on this earth.

Interests
I am a nurse. I went back to college and studied criminal justice. I became a detective working on homicide cases, drug cases, and sexual assault cases for 2 Police Departments over an 12 year period. I loved my work very much but I was told after the gangrene if I returned to work it could kill me if the intestine collapsed. I was also just diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am a real animal lover I own two boston terriers.I also love meeting people. I feel very fortunate just to be alive and I try to enjoy every moment of life no matter how hard it can sometimes be. I live with and care for my mother and father who is a paraplegic. I have one adult son who is a great help to all of us. i just try to live every single day to it's fullest!

I've had gangrene of my small intestine I lost almost 20 ft. of small bowel,because of this I have the bones of a 90 year old woman and kidney stones everyday. I lift a 12 pack of coke and break my pelvis or ribs. i'm only 51 years old and have died twice. First from the gangrene and the second when a pharmacy gave me the wrong medication. I was revived and in a coma for 2 weeks. Johns Hopkins believes I had Chrohns as well as irritable syndrome but not diagnosed until too late.
