WHEN LOVE HAPPENS! ~ The Plug-In~ Mood
Sunday, August 24, 2008 | An Inspiring story

This is the last in the series of 'Refrigerator Rights Relationships.'  This has been the theme for our Church Services.

It's about those relationships that are close to us, to where our friends/family feel comfy helping themselves to food/pop inside our fridge. But, what if something stinky is in there? What if you forgot about something in there that is growing some moldy science project? What will your friends think when they pop open your Fridge?

Think of the Fridge as your Life....and those friends/family you let into your Fridge, you let into your personal life. Sometimes our lives are sticky, messy and we don't like to let people in.

*******************************************

SO....This is the 'Plug-In,' the last of the series!

Here it Comes...A Beautiful Collision...

~ OR ~

it Comes Together as a Wreck...A Beautiful/Ugly Disaster.

Relationships Collide...sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst. We need to Stay Close to God, and we do that through other people. (See the song at the end of this journal)

Reconciliation can happen! Our Sins are not counted!

2 Corinthians 5:16-21

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The 'Plug-In' is this:

** When LOVE Happens,

      God is Present!**

Today, how are we connected to other people?

----I'm sure many of us are guilty of  using these methods to connect with other people: E-Mail, Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, Cell Phones, Texting, Instant Messaging and I'm sure there are many others.

We are attaching ourselves and connecting with people through technology. How authentic of a connection/relationship is this when we connect only through technology?  We use technology to connect instead of connecting with people in real life.

Do you connect more with your friends/family that live near you more through technology or in person?

When LOVE Happens,

God is Present!

1 John 4:7-12

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

God is Love. God wants us to love. God lives in us.

Think about some happy, loving times in your life:

- Your 1st Love

- Your Wedding Day

- The Birth of your Children

- The 1st Smile received from your Children

- The day you got your dog/cat

When LOVE Happens,

God is Present!

Many times, God works through other people. He may work through them to help you out.

God wants to save us from this Broken World.

Colossians 1:16-17

For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

God wants to Restore us and others to Him. He wants to restore the Broken World.  It takes people to see things differently and change their actions. Speaking up about wrong-doings, and making a change in this world. Break the Silence that is keeping many of us in hiding.

When you experience a heightened intimacy with God...this may lead you to caring about others you didn't think you could care for.  You try to see people as God sees them. It may take  a lot of prayer time to help you get there!

We all want to be part of something bigger than us. Christ is the Answer.

But, to add another 'plug-in' to this, sometimes a silly dance video may make you bigger than what you were...You find that you want to Dance like everyone wants to join in.  Check out this silly dance video, where this man, Matt Harding, travels 14 months to 42 Countries around the world doing this silly dance...it's pretty comical!

A few more thoughts....

Love sometimes come with Great Pain, but it's worth it! I think a lot of us struggle with the Great Pain that comes along with Love. But, the struggle to get through it is well worth it!

Philippians 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Proverbs 27:17

As iron sharpens iron,
       so one man sharpens another.

1 John 4:12

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Our Church Band played this wonderful song...A Beautiful Collision by David Crowder Band. I would encourage you ALL to listen to this...it's a great song, and even though it's sung by a Christian Pop Rock Band, it is Neutral, and any Non-Christian will be able to relate to it as well, relate to it as The Universe. So, please listen to it!

Hi daisy..I connect wit people every day in the 3 - D world. I find the internet connection to simply help but it isn't the whole of experiencing another person.

Thank you for all the reaching out you do! It is true that the technology that is supposed to help us connect can also keep us apart if we do not put limits on it, and go out to be with others in person when we are able and also give ourselves the solitude we need.

so true that you hide the messy things with family/friends and relationships. Starts when you are a kid already... if things are a mess at home you deliberately dont make any friends outside the house just in case they would find out what family you live in.
    Thanks again for sharing this.

In my panic, I just see everyone withdraw - except my dad. He's not coming through on housing, which is okay because God has another plan, but he is being present and supportive in ways that no one else is. There's been a lot of judgment from the people I expected support from and there's been support from people who I didn't think would ever be there. I miss having get togethers.

I like the David Crowder Band a lot. They're really good.

I dunno, my experience just keeps reinforcing that saying nothing is best. I have *never* believed that because how can we make change unless we speak up, but maybe it is just for me to learn to say nothing. All the Bible passages I have been reading lately keep having Jesus say, "Tell no one." Tell no one we saw things, he did things, that we experience things, that we are in certain situations, etc. I don't know what to think about it. I just keep reading and pray for clarity. I also ask my dad. I am lucky I have someone who is so well read and familiar with the Word.
