Looking forward to a nice long Thanksgiving holiday. This year we'll be staying at home, but I hope we will see …
This is the 2nd entry about the 'Refrigerator Rights' Relationship Series we are doing at Church.
This Series is *really* hitting home with me, and I think it will hit home with you too, whether you are a Christian or not.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHAME comes from the secrets that we are trying to keep. We hide our secrets, and won't let anyone in.
SHAME comes from:
- Past Failures
- Things that have happened to you
- 'Secret Sin'...hiding things from others, like gambling, pornography, abortion, incest, abuse)
SHAME does NOT bring us HONOR!
In Genesis 2:25 - both Adam & Eve were naked in the Garden...they felt NO SHAME!Yet, shortly after, in Genesis 3:7, SHAME entered the picture when the Serpent (Satan) tempted Adam & Eve to eat from the Tree in the Middle of the Garden. Then, they hid from God, they hid themselves by covering themselves in fig leaves. The root of Shame began here with Adam & Eve!
SHAME leads to:
- Isolation...we isolate ourselves physically.
- Distancing ourselves from issues that cause our shame. Like, addiction leads to more shame.
- Hiding the real nature of our problem.
We use ways to HIDE our SHAME. These are the ways we coped to survive.
- Perfectionism
- Isolation
- Control
- Seek Affirmations
- Minimizing
- Denial
- Rationalizing
- Forgetting
- Splitting - Lack of Integration or Leaving your Body
- Chaos
- Spacing Out
- Being Super-Alert
- Humor
- Busyness
- Escape...like runaway, read books, internet, games, TV etc.
Here's what YOU Need to Know!
God Loves YOU EXACTLY as YOU are RIGHT NOW!
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
How can you break the Shame in Your Life?
Base YOUR WORTH on GOD LOVES YOU! That will help break the shame in your life!
Jesus can break the shame-sin cycle and set you FREE and turn it into Glory!
How can you do this? Here's how:
1. Ask Jesus to come into your life and confess with your mouth that 'Jesus is Lord.'
2. Expose Your Secrets to God.
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
3. Expose your Secrets to a Christ-Follower that You can Trust.
James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
With God, all things are possible!

Looking forward to a nice long Thanksgiving holiday. This year we'll be staying at home, but I hope we will see …
I recently have been raising my 4 year old granddaughter. And I just turned 50. At this point in time I thought I would …
I am a homemaker going back to college full-time. I am doing fine.
I always find it amazing, when I look at all the glory of the creation around me, to think that God has called US His masterpieces..........I don't feel much like a masterpiece sometimes, but how can I argue with Him???
