HAPPY NOVEMBER
Sunday, November 1, 2009 | A General Update story
Happy first of November! I hope this journal finds my entire DS friends well. We are slowly creeping up on the winter weather...yuck! And of course the Christmas season is not too far off. I have already started shopping. Actually, I start as soon as Christmas is over. I have a big bin in the attic and as I buy something I put it in there. This usually works out quite well for me. But sometimes I get a shock and realize I have way too much stuff for someone. If that is the case then I will put the item aside for a birthday.Last night Michael and I plus my gal pal and he hubby went to the local hockey game. Hubby goes every week with another friend. They have reserved seating. Anyway, we Amherstonians take our hockey seriously. Well, it just so happened that the team they were playing was from my girlfriend’s hometown. So she was in an all Amherst section and cheering for the opposing team. Boy, did she get some dirty looks. Too funny!! I dressed real warm for the game as I find sitting in the arena I get really chilled... well, last night the temp outside was a lovely 66*F. This is nicer than some of our summer nights this year. It was so nice that the kiddies did not have to bundle up in snowsuits or rain gear to go trick or treating. It is raining here today...what else is new!! The temp is 43*F so that is okay. But I took advantage of yesterday’s mild temps to get the rest of my outdoor work done. Hubby was a great help. The biggest job was removing the leaves from the gravelled dog area. But it actually turned out to be easy. We used the leaf blower to corral them and then Michael used the lawnmower with the mulching bag. We were so surprised that it did not suck up the gravel. Now I will not have leaves being drug into the house. Yeah!Well that is all for now. I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday. Debbie
You had to go and mention winter and x-mas, didn't you. I am in a bad enough mood as it is. LOL. We worked like a dogs in the yard for 7 hours today. My hands hurt, my back hurts and lets see, well all of it hurts. I am tired and it is only 9:00, what am I going to do? Do you go on daylight savings time? Wish they would just leave it alone. I have a leaf sucker and I put it to work. I got 24 leaf and lawn bags of leaves to mulch the vege gardens with. The garden is weeded and racked and ready but we were to tired to put the leaves down and those bags are HEAVY!! The other two gardens are all ready done. Kind of winding up the fall work. We have not had snow yet and I am really surprised but glad or I would not have got done. Farenhiet? (sp) stop it. Never mind I will get a conversion chart and put it by my puter or maybe just a thermometer will do. LOL. I used to know but lost it somewhere in what is left of my brain. Hockey, yah Hubby is a fan. He is going to the Redwings game on Tueday, I think, maybe Wednesday. Goes with his Bud, I am boring. Six months of winter, how are we going to stand it. I have to stop thinking about it, it is depressing me. Yeck October is over, then Thanksgiving will thrill us for Novenber, then there is Santa so we really only have January, Febuary, March, April, then tulips...GEEZ, somehow I am not real thrilled. Glad you got your work all done and your dressing room looks really cute. good job. Naomi xo
