I like to have a sugary snack everyday in the late afternoon with some caffeine. I'm saving money by making brownies. I was spending $1-$1.50 a day at the convenience store. So now I get a brownie mix for $1 and with 2 eggs I make my own brownies. I get 4 servings from one box. I keep my weight problem under control by having only one a day. I also have to watch my sweets since a few months ago I was prediabetic, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I saw a dietician to discuss my diet including anything I eat, drink and all my vitamins and medications. I did a radical diet change and within a few months I was no longer prediabetic, my cholesterol level was ok, and blood pressure normal. I still have been struggling with keeping my weight down and was misisng the gym since I've been adjusting to my new job. Then I got back to the gym again and my weight is back down a bit. My doctor thinks I should be at 200 pounds for my height which will lessen my back ache problem and it's better for my heart health especially because of my family health history. I need to lose another 13 pounds to get down to 200. I noticed a real difference in my backache problem when I lost 20 pounds in the first few months this year.

Chocolate is definitely my drug of choice. And I don't abuse ; I respect it. I am not a baker, but coincidentally I made brownies last night as well. I am dealing with a nasty sinus headache this last day or so, and I needed a treat to help pick up my spirit a little bit. When I don't feel well I do little things to pamper myself (like our mothers did for us when we were kids) and then I feel "cared for". Some people might think this to be totally lame, but I think that it helps to do small things for yourself when you are feeling a little low. My sinus pain is still with me today, so I am taking it easy for a few hours by watching a cool old movie on DVD and contemplating a big fudge brownie with milk. (that's my chicken soup for the soul).
