NOW, I HAVE A WONDERFUL HUSBAND, AND I LIKE TO WRITE POETRY, SO HERE IS ONE I HAVE DONE AND STILL AM WORKING ON......
MY HUSBAND AND HERO
MY HUSBAND IS A SWEETIE PIE!
FOR 20 YRS, HE'S BEEN MY GUY.
WHEN MY MS STRUCK IN 2007
HE DIDNT FLEE, HE KEPT BELIEVEN
OUR VOWS WE MADE ARE BEYOND WEALTH
HE'S CARED AND LOVED ME THRU SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH
FROM GENTLE DAILY HUGS TO KISSES OF LOVE
I THANK MY GOD FROM ABOVE,
HE DRIES MY TEARS AND LETS ME VENT
I THANK MY LORD FOR WHAT HE'S SENT,
FROM DAILY ACTIVITIES TO MONTHLY INFUSIONS,
I HAVE NEVER FELT LIKE I AM AN INTRUSION.
AND AS A DAD, OUR SONS ARE TRUELY BLESSED!
HE HAS SHOWED THEM, WE CAN WEATHER ANY TEST.
A BETTER HUSBAND I'LL NEVER FIND
MY LOVING DIETER, IS ONE OF A KIND!
....I LOVE YOU FOREVER, DIETER..

STILL IN PROGRESS..BUT IM GOING TO FGIVE IT TO HIM ON OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY, MAYBE WRITTEN OR PAINTED ON A PICTURE OF US...

that is quite good..and I can feel the love and emotion..you are lucky in soo many ways..I try to be this same kind of person for my wife even though we have different kinds of struggles in life..I believe your description of your husband is the quintescential definition of a real man..takes care of his family first and foremost..God bless you all

Hell, I wish I wrote that well. Sounds to me like your Dieter is an "Actual Guy". I wrote about them a while back in a hug to my friend Laura, who was questioning why so many "guys" were so shallow. She reproduced it and sent it out to Lord only knows how many people.
All I can say is that with all that went on with my Cricket's illnesses over the years, I never had any inclination to leave, cheat or anything other than be home to help her as much as possible. I would happily have traded my life for her health, but that was not to be, so we simply lived each day with the problems and pain and continued to love each other as fiecely as we could.
You have a winning poem on your hand kid; bet he loves it biggie time.

Framing it or putting it on a picture is a wonderful idea. My daughter's dad (passed away in 93) wrote a poem when he was younger and I had someone do it in calligraphy and framed it. He was so surprised and happy about that.
