I'm a Registered Respiratory Therapist in WV. I had a spinal birth defect (Spondylolesthesis/Spinal stenosis) which required a posterior multi-level lumbar fusion in 2005. I also have Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence Syndrome (misdiagnosed as Meniere's), Trigeminal & Occipital Neuralgia, and a history of Occipital Migraines. I'm a walking train wreck =(

Close Back Pain
I had a 2 level posterior spinal fusion in November 2005. I have 6 screws, 2 rods & 2 bone grafts. Woke up one morning in severe pain and with foot drop. Found out I had 2 spinal birth defects... Surgery successful for the most part =)
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- Didn't help at all once we found out my problem was congential. Crazy doctor kept trying to adjust me back to "textbook normal" which I never was to begin with.
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- Had epidurals done to hopefully postpone surgery but they didn't help.
- Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
- Somewhat helpful for my post-op pain and recovery.
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- Still take periodically when my back pain is bothersome.
- Prayer Working / Worked
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Surgery corrected my spinal defect and I'm now pain free 99% of the time.
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- Did not help my back pain, ended up having surgery.
Open Epilepsy & Seizures
My husband suffers from Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy of Janz (JME).

Diagnosed with both Trigeminal & Occipital Neuralgia.

- Ive had 3 episodes of Trigeminal Neuralgia currently going through my second episode of Occipital Neuralgia.

- Heat Somewhat Helpful

- Helped my post-op pain. Makes me nauseated & I can't work while taking it.
- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- Had an epidural to try to help my pre surgery pain, unsuccessful.
- TENS Not Working
- Ibuprofen Somewhat Helpful
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionLong history of depression, diagnosed as bipolar type 2 but I'm mainly depressed.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Sent me into hypomania & I couldn't sleep for days.
- Geodon Not Working
- Made me eat like a cow !!!
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Currently on Lexapro 20mg
- Prozac Somewhat Helpful
- Switched to another antidepressant
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- Interfered with another medication I was on at the time.
- Zoloft Not Working
- Couldn't tell a difference at all, switched meds.
Open Hearing Loss & Deafness
Diagnosed with Superior Semi-Circular Canal Dehiscence Syndrome, have hearing loss in my right ear.
Open Nystagmus
Diagnosed with Superior Semi-Circular Dehiscence Syndrome. Loud noises or a change in pressure results in vertical nystagmus.

Diagnosed with Superior Semi-Circular Canal Dehiscence Syndrome.

- I take 6-10 fish oil caps daily.

- Completely whacked me after my very first dose.

- Made me have uncontrollable tremors.
- Lexapro Somewhat Helpful
- Going to switch back to either this or Celexa since they are sister drugs (per my MD).

I have migraines every 3 months like clockwork. They started after I was diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia. They are progressing in intensity and the treatments that were previously effective are no longer working.

- They gave this to me in the ER it worked at first but then stopped the last time. I have migraines every 3 months like clockwork.
