Lately, it seems like each time I awake in the morning, within 1/2 to 1 hour I am in pain. It is a moderate headache and my face contorts like the symptom of Cluster Headaches. I have a few of those symptoms and thank God each day that I do not have full Cluster Headaches. I have found 2 videos of documented Cluster attacks on line and they are horrifying. My symptoms still remain Migraines, PCS headaches and Cluster Headaches in part.
It is odd that the more meds they give me, the more pain I feel. If I have a nasty attack I take 2-8 mg Dillaudid with a Soma. Sometimes a Phenobarbital depending on the time of day. Even a Xanax if I get to anxious.
All I know is that it hurts and I want it to stop. No more drugs, no more pain and no more doctors. The Cluster Headaches have moved to my right side on occasion. Because of this, I WILL BE ASKING MY APRN OR DOCTOR FOR AN MRI the next time I go. A close neighbor of mine thought things were getting better for me. One day she came over to check on me. She realized that things are not. Maybe they eased some things that I was complaining about before but new things surface. Must be a chemical inbalance in my brain from the injury and now the mass of drugs I am taking. There are 3 antiseizure meds and each is designed for a different purpose. I don't have seizures that I am aware of. Then all my other meds, about 27 pills a day plus a fentanyl or Duragesic patch and I am a walking science experiment. The APRN admits that he and the doctor are just trying meds and trying to ease my pain. Some worked well for a while and then stop. Like the Dilaudid ( which is equal to about 30mg of morphene at each 8 mg dose ), I now need to take 2 at a time to get any releif from when I have a major attack.
It just sucks! I am injured just enough for it to ruin my life. It controls me each day. I can't work. Can't play. The only thing that I do enjoy doing is mowing my lawn with my tractor. Funny isn't it? Most people hate doing it. It took me many years of work and fertilizing to get it to the condition it is in now. Of course the rain we have been getting up here in Connecticut has benefitted it tremendously. It rained for about 5 days here ( of course I was in pain ) and by the time I got to cut it, it was a good 6 inches. But yet, I still enjoyed cutting it. If I had a regular mower, I would die from the pain after cutting the grass.
I still don't know if I will be in this home or not. Time will only tell. That is all for now.

Meds have a lot of side effects. Maybe some of yours are causing some of your pain? You should research as much as you can about your meds. and especially interactions. This is a site I like: http://www.crazymeds.us/
When I first went there I was not sure if it was a good site or not - so I researched the drugs in several diff trusted sites and found the same info. The crazymed site also has individual experiences with the drugs which I find helpful.

I have to wonder what taking all these meds is doing to your internal organs? I think you should tell your doc to take all these meds one day and see how HE feels!

Hi Kaz, I am sorry you were hurt & that led to your TN. Does ice help your pain? It helps mine & I use ice a few times a day. I like you wake up and am in pain within a half hour. I also can't eat often form the constant pain which helps ease the pain if I go to liquids for awhile. I am also on lots of narcotics but they do help but I have only been taking them a few weeks. There is "opiate induced hyperglesia" which causes the body to no longer accept opiates to work in the body so that could be a problem. They observed this problem with soldiers in the civil war. So try ice, it helps with inflammation and it works with pain. A lot of people say , "well it triggers my pain", Yes it does... But if you can get through the initial pain it will deaden the whole lot of it for a good few hours. Trust Me. -Holliday

I don't think it's strange at all that the more drugs they give you, the more pain you feel. That's what I had and why I got off of everything. You're having withdrawal pain and rebound headaches from, likely, each med. And probably toxic headaches from the interractions as well. It doesn't surprise me one bit.
