Desiderata...a Poem Mood
Monday, July 6, 2009 | An Inspiring story

You may have read this, but I just found this poem, and found it truly inspiring! I hope you all enjoy:

Desiderata (Things to be Desired)

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Looking after I LEEP! Mood
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 | A General Update story

Well friends, the LEEP is done. I found the procedure fairly easy, and am glad I had a great doc and nurse. I'm resting now, and glad my mom is home with me. We (Me, hubby and my son) are staying at my mother's while our new house is being built. I can't express how helpful this is. My mother is an amazing woman, and we are very close - especially since I'm an only child. She has been through her own tribulations, having had an ectopic pregnancy at 34 (my age!) which led to a hysterectomy. I'm glad to be here, not only because she is my mom, but because she knows what I'm going through. It's also great support for my husband, who although strong and silent, is worried.

However...we also have great things to focus on. I'm spending quality time with family, especially my 3 yo son. He is such a ray of light! We are also in the fun planning stages of our house building, and the excitement this brings also helps. Despite the fact that things are worse than I initially anticipated, there's so much positivity to reach for. I know no matter what the outcome of this, I can make the most of life.

HGSIL Mood
Wednesday, June 10, 2009

I received my biopsy result today, and it came back HGSIL. I'm scheduled for my LEEP on June 23, which was moved up as the doctor cancelled her July sessions. I'm trying not to make this bigger than it needs to be, but each time I receive news, I'm getting the 'oh, it's probably nothing' playdown followed by a result that is worse than predicted.

Anyways, I'm going to take my hubby's advice, and not worry until there's something to worry about.

    Take your hubby's advice and try not to worry too much. I know--it's easier said than done. Keep busy, think lots of POSITIVE thoughts, send out a few good words to your favorite deity, and enjoy all the wonderful things you have in your life.

    Lots of hugs,

    Liz

    I know exactly what U mean. I always look at everything bad, that way if its good news, thats great....if its bad news im already perpared 4 it. Every1 says I shouldn't do this & I probably shouldn't but always have. Try not 2 worry tho but like Liz said easier said than done, than look what I just said above.

    take care, kris
