Oh boy do I know how it is, I am terrible when I have family in the hospital I am there almost ngiht and day and always on their case if things aren't done like they should be and that's part of our job as loved ones...
I've been on both sides of this and I also know that places like hospitals and nursing homes are almost always under staffed and even the most caring staff have to work their butts off and then there are people who are not the most caring but it's hard to get rid of them because you'd be even more short staffed.
Just keep being your moms protector, that's the job you can do best right now.
I am an only child. Two years ago my mom fell in her Senior apartment. We noticed some forgetfulness over the years, but didn't know realize the extent. She was diagnoised with dementia and needed a walker. She has lived with us now for two years. My husband has been a real support. We drive her to a Daycare for a few hours a day. We have a sitter from 4-8 Wed.and Fri.evenings.Date Night. It is getting to be a strain day in and day out.
