Evyn is 2 months old already! I really can't believe how fast time is flying. She went for her 2-month checkup yesterday. She now weighs 11 lb. 2 oz. and is 22 and 1/2 inches long. She's gained 3 pounds and half an inch. She also had to get her first set of vaccines. It just breaks my heart watching that because she's laying there all innocent talking and looking around and then all of a sudden screaming in pain. I guess it wore her out or something because she slept all day yesterday. I'm not exaggerating at all. She would cry every once in a while and I would feed her, but she didn't really get up until around 9 p.m. last night.
Kendall also had to go to the doctor yesterday for her kindergarten physical. She had already had her shots but they wanted to do a TB test and check for diabetes. She did not want to participate in that at all! Both girls are in the 75th percentile for their weight and 60-65th percentile for their height. Kendall has gained almost 10 pounds this summer! I have no idea how because she's very active. She's played soccer, tball, and gone swimming a lot. I guess she's getting ready to grow or something.
Everyone is pretty much adjusted to Evyn now. She has a routine (mostly) that we do every day. She sleeps through the night (5 hours) sometimes. It's not that she sleeps too much during the day, she just gets hungry. If she takes a bottle, she will only drink 2-3 ounces, so her little belly is still small I guess. She's definitely still a momma's girl. Kendall likes to pretend she's her mom and will pick her up and talk to her. It's so cute when she does pick her up. She does it just like we do, puts her on her shoulder and starts patting her back. She's a really good big sister.
I'll stop rambling now :)

Evyn had her first checkup yesterday. She now weighs 7lb 10 oz. We have to go back in another week to check her weight. They want her back up to where she started at. If that's okay next week we don't have to go back until she's two months.
We're just enjoying her and seeing the interaction with Kendall and her little sis. Kendall loves to hold her and to help out. The other night she was teaching Evyn how to take a bath. It was so sweet! Oh, and she read her a book. I got that one on camera :)
Still trying to figure out the sleep thing. She WILL NOT sleep at night unless you are holding her, which, of course, I can't do. She has a cosleeper in our bed and it's hard and I don't think she likes it. As soon as you lay her down she starts fussing no matter how long she's been asleep beforehand. It's frustrating. I really don't know what to do. Craig says just to let her cry and he thinks she'll put herself to sleep. (Of course he's sleeping in the other room. He won't have to hear it.) The other night she was up fussing from 12-3 and then from 3-5 screaming. Nothing we did for her made her happy. I was starting to think she had colic, but she hasn't done it since. I might try to have her sleep in her boppy bouncy seat thing tonight. It has the heartbeat sound and it vibrates, maybe it will work.
I want to thank all of you for your comments, hugs, etc. I'm never going to be able to catch up on everyone's journals either, I wish I could but it doesn't seem possible right now. Just know that I'm thinking of all of you every day!

I think from what I hear it is very common for babies to lose weight at first....hang in there I am sure she will get the hang of things soon! I will def keep you all in my prayers that you get cleared next week so you have a two month break :0) I am so glad Kendall is loving her roll and helping out, too cute!!! I hope that you and Evyn get some sleep tonight, I am sure that is very tough! Hang in there you all will get things worked out soon! In the mean time lots of hugs and prayers are being sent your way :0)

I'm sure she will gain the weight back in no time. I'm sure you all are enjoying her so very much but I bet you are tired. Good luck to you on the sleeping thing, I have a two year old that has just began sleeping the night through so I'm not one to give advice on that. Thinking of you and your beautiful family!

I'm glad she is doing well. I hope she has been sleeping better since you posted this. Take care of yourself, you're a doing great!
Well, Evyn came early because my water broke Monday morning. I had just eaten breakfast and I was talking on the phone with one of my friends. It had meconium (sp?) in it. I wasn't for sure if it was my water or not because it didn't gush out like it did when I had Kendall. Anyway, I called the doctor's office and they said to go to the hospital. We took the ambulance (much to my protests). When I got there I was barely having contractions and I was only dilated to a one. They couldn't do the c-section yet because I had just eaten, so we were supposed to wait 8 hrs., which would have been around 4:30 p.m. But the rest of my water ended up coming out and the contractions were so painful I had the nurse come in and check me again. Well, when she did, she felt Evyn's feet coming out of my cervix. So off we went to the operating room. She was born at 3:31 p.m. When they were getting her out, they also found out that she had the cord wrapped around her three times and that my uterus was odd-shaped and that's why she never could turn, she got stuck in the right side because it was bigger.
Kendall has been doing good with her. She wants to help pick out her clothes, etc. However, she has such an attitude! I know it's just going to take some adjustments, but it's hard to deal with her right now. I've tried playing with her when Evyn is sleeping or whatever, but she doesn't want anything to do with me. And of course she gets jealous when someone comes over to see Evyn too. I guess we'll figure it out.
Right now I'm just exhausted. Evyn didn't sleep much last night and I'm nursing so I'm the one taking most of the care of her. Craig has been doing really good helping out and cleaning, etc. I feel kind of useless though.
I need to go check on her, Kendall is way too quiet!

Wow you had quiet a day Monday!!! I am so glad it all turned out so well though. Sounds like Kendall is doing good but I am sure it is a lot for her to get used too as well, I sure with time it will all settle down. I am so glad to hear from you and know everything went ok.Kendall will adjust quickly. It's hard, I know, especially when you are tired yourself. When people would make a big deal over the baby I always made sure to include what a good big brother/sister the baby has because sometimes others seem to forget. Everyone gets so excited over the baby they forget the other is still "mommy's baby" too. Give both of your beautiful girls a hug for me and tell Kendall I love the picture she drew in my thank you card!

Ahhh I am sorry about the shots but hope she is feeling better!! I can't believe it has already been 2 months!!! That is adorable about Kendall being such a great big sister!!! And so exciting about Kindergarten!!! I am excited for her :0) I am glad you are all doing so well!!! Lots of hugs to you!
