I hope tonight is ok! Rest...lay down after eating and I rinse my mouth with listerine and I brush. I carry a travel size tooth brush, paste, and listerine when i'm out. I have compared the differenc of brushing and not brushing after I eat. The rinsing and brushing DEFINETLY helps...no doubt. Also, I do it fast...immediatly. Take care...Shelley

I've had chronic idiopathic urticaria, 4 diff. times. I know how it can depress you! This is a great site for support. I felt very alone because no one can understand how stressful hives are, that's why I think this site is so helpful!

    • Close Hives

I have had chronic idiopathic urticaria for 3 and a half years. It has caused me a great deal of stress and caused me to become depressed. I got it following several lenghtly bacterial infections, and I wonder if this is somehow related. I have had many tests- I do not have any identifiable allergies, no thyroid diseases and all bloodwork comes back "normal". I do have a lot of GI issues, which I am not sure if they are related also. I have severe hives daily.

      Treatments

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Not Working
no allergens (food or medications) identified
      Benadryl Not Working
      made me too sedated
      Zyrtec Working / Worked
works 70%. Keeps hives out of my mouth and throat. I have an epipen in case of anyphylaxis.
