Ready again Mood
Sunday, July 13, 2008

Hi All,

I'm back from vacation and have started radiation and will start chemo again Tuesday.

The trip was awesome I have never been west and saw so much. Pikes Peak, Durango,

Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest. It was all breath-taking.

Words and Pictures do not do it justice.(although I took about 700 pics, lol)  It was so good to be away from everything and spend time with my best friend. We have known each other for over 30 years, and been through a lot together. We don't see each other very often lately because she lives in Fla., and I in MO.   I managed to get back some of the peace and strength in my heart that had pretty well drained from me over the past year. Now I'm ready to do battle again.

Love to all,

Cat

700 pics!!! You can wallpaper your room, tee-hee! There is nothing like a best friend, someone we have a "soul" history with, tobring us back to ourselves. Was that a mouthful or what! Good to read you. kathy

Saturday, June 7, 2008 | A General Update story

Well, I got the results from my pet scan. Things seem overall to be progressing. The tumors in my lungs are smaller, and the activity in the adrenal gland is less. However, it seems that another small tumor has shown up on c2 of my spine.  Radiation seems to be the answer for this. I had radiation on the adrenal gland back in December and it seemed to benefit me, but it did not get rid of the pain, that seems to be nerve damage.  Anyway, I talked to all the doctors and asked for a break.  I want to go on a trip west with my friends, and I want to feel as well as possible. I told them I am physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. I have been on chemo or radiation for over a year now.  They agreed, so I am not taking any treatments of any kind until sometime in July.  I need this time to re-group and heal a bit so I can continue this journey.

Oh Cath, that gnawing, aching pain can be so debilitating. It wears a body and soul out from the sheer energy of trying to beat it.

Where out West? Glad you are taking a journey with friends. You have worked so hard this past year on your health. I think of you often and am glad read your words, ladybug. regards and affection, kathy

I have not posted in quite a while.  Seems just fighting this battle leaves little energy for much else.  I am currently having chemo every three weeks.  I do have hair this time, however.  It's curly curly.

I get another pet scan on friday, and that will tell me what is happening.

My closest friends and I are planning a trip west the middle of June.  I have never seen the mountains, or anything, and now I feel it is important to do this while I can.  I keep up the hope and faith that this too will pass, and I will have good news.
